Hopong to get to the plot at weekend. I usually sow toms in heated germination tray but was thinking of sowing some in greenhouse will they germinate in unheated trays under glass?

It might still be a bit cold at night for germinating seeds in the greenhouse @Zoomer44

Yes once germinated they can cope with a lower temperature but you need 18-22 to get them going.

Good session at the plots today,  dry and brighter weather helps.  Lots done but so much more to do.  Seems to happen every year,  one minute it's too early,  next it all needs doing now.

Today planted seeds of spring onions, beetroot, and carrot all under cover outside, unlike me who got wet doing it.

I know that feeling too allotment boy.

I sowed some flower seeds, an early lettuce variety and some early brassica varieties a' couple of weeks ago and they germinated. So on the strength of that have sown more early varieties.

Sowed some toms too, against advise 🙃 but' I've lots of seeds. Sowed lots of chillis too in a heated propogator.

Busy day in the garden that started very very early under flood lights. Cleared the last big perennial bed (Japanese anemonies are spreading like wild fire) raked the bed with the rubber rake to clear all the leaves and mess. Added another 4 x2 timber to the back of the perennial beds to stop the blackbirds throwing loads of mulch onto the beds. Extended the bed in the dry garden (this is the third time since autumn I've done this 🤣), it's ready for a load of iris's now. Planted out 2 rows of peas for pea shoots. Removed the beetroot and spring onions from the heated propogater. Planted out about 400 wild flower plug plants in amongst the daffs in the meadow area (wild carrot, birds foot trefoil, cornflowers, knapweed and poppies). Drank loads of coffee, cooked a huge pork shoulder in the pizza oven and rejoiced in the glorious sunshine 🌞🌞

    Hello ,good day at allotment
The main jobs where for O/H to stain original shed and I replaced 2 broken fence posts
Also weeded a flower bed and cut up a rotten pallet for burning on fire at home

Reasonable session at plots this morning.  Wheelbarrowed 2 more loads of wood chip for paths around the raspberries.  Had to go all the way to the front for it as the recent delivery to the middle car park is full of cr*ppy bits of conifer needles and hidden branches & other off cuts. I'm sure it's not from the usual people.
Did some more digging,  slow going as had to pick out a lot of bindweed roots.
