Am still wiped out after the weekend away, did too much and am now paying for it.
Managed to pot on two Tigerella tomatoes and two Beth Alpha Cucumbers for outside. Did the round of watering tubs in the garden, a half hour job by itself. Then tied the tomatoes up in the greenhouse,  they are putting on a spurt of growth, and five have open flowers. I found the first cucumber that was just forming when they went into the greenhouse is just about ready to pick. The carrot and beetroot seeds under the closhe have sprouted too.

Trying to get straight at the plots.  I have to get things like pumpkins and courgettes out.  I sowed peas and more Broad beans weeks ago but they are barely showing through. Other things like plugs of lettuce etc are hardly moving forward.  I think th cold nights are still keeping things in check. At least the greenhouse toms are doubling in size every few days,  but the outside ones are hardly bigger than when they were planted.

I grew peas under cover at home from January and planted them out in march they are about 3ft high now and flowering, the same with broad beans, all the rain during April really did them good, the potatoes are all earthed up and weeded looks like they will do well this year, runner beans have just started to climb the canes, and the shallots are looking quite good too. I haven't got too much else in the ground as yet because the temperature is fluctuating so much. I don't think that I will be bothering with tomatoes in the allotment greenhouse this year as my plants, pink brandywine and marmande just aren't growing well enough to plant up there, I thought that they were just sulking because of the cool weather but they haven't improved even though it has been warmer of late, and having tomatoes in the allotment greenhouse does become a bit of a faff when they need watering every day especially as we will be away for a week in July. Still I have grown some tumbling tom for hanging baskets in the garden at home I just need to get some of those moisture retaining gel pellets before I plant them up. Yes the allotment is quite bare at the moment some of it is still covered with plastic weed control sheets, it has been bad enough keeping the weeds down on the uncovered patches as it is, especially as the next door plot is vacant again and 2ft high in grass which I have to keep pulling out all up the length of the boundary, its amazing how quickly everything is growing at this time of year except my tomato plants that is!

O/H did the greenhouse yesterday , we have bought 2 peat free grow bags but you don’t put holes in the bottom , will be interesting to see how they do ?

Going to allotment tomorrow for a full day plus BQ

    Everything is definitely growing

    Hello , planted leeks & tomatoes 🍅
Also put carrots 🥕 on a tape in and some radish

Weeded onion , shallot & garlic bed , has to be done by hand as that part of the plot has horse tail

Also replaced 2 St George Flags , as other where now a bit tatty

Just had a beer before dinner to recover , doesn’t sound a lot but definitely was

Planted climbing beans,  runners and French two types of cucumber  lettuce plugs, and re-sowed peas, as the first two lots failed to germinate more than a couple of plants. Planted out the Dahlias,  and Chrysanthemums .  Lots had to go straight out with little hardening off, just couldn't wait any longer. The Toms in the greenhouse are looking good,  but the outdoor ones are looking poor,  I think it's the cold nights.  The warmer weather this week is bringing things on now though.
