Temp here only dropped to 10.4C in the back garden last night ... it’s looking hopeful ...

Good morning.  Plumber here to change the tap in the downstairs loo and I'm on Bonzo watch.   He barks and bounces at strange people in his home so I have to shut him up.

For decades the Dutch have piped spare heat from electricity generation into massive greenhouses to grow commercial veg.  They are now the second biggest exporters of food after the USA which is just a bit larger...........  The British just send that heat up into the atmosphere out of those huge cooling towers.  Not clever.  No idea what the French do but they have a lot of nuclear generating stations and that's a worry.

Cool here today and cloudy again.   OH has been after me to plant out my toms but I've resisted thank goodness.   Had to remind him that I don't actually have a spare bed outside and can't plant them in the PT till it's reliable warm enough to put out all the pots of acers and fuchsias and citrus.

Weekly shop this pm then cleaning tomorrow and a plant fair on Sunday and a busy week next week so the weather has another week to get friendly.

Well done FG.  Power to your elbow LP.  Take care.   You too Pat and OH and anyone else with health probs.   Happy gardening and everything else to the rest of you.

BL - I got a couple of those photo albums that they print the pix into, instead of getting the photos and sticking them in. It seemed good value, and although it took a while, they were really nice. I did a special one for youngest with all the sheep photos I collect when out walking [which has been a running joke for a long time] and it was really cute. You can add text to the pages too.
My car has been pollen covered regularly too. We have a mature conifer nearby. It had the male 'flowers' on it earlier in the year too. First time it's had those since I moved in.
I was out on Tuesday as well, LP, but yesterday was cooler and quieter, which suited me better. Just up to one of the wee hills at Rest & be Thankful. Views were glorious, as usual  :)

I think it was Vistaprint I used, BL. It does take some time to go through the photos, upload and arrange them etc, but the quality of the whole thing was very good.  :)

Morning all. Very grey here, as forecast. I hope we get some rain, but we're only predicted light showers so not much use. Both water butts are empty, and I have resited one so would like it to fill to make sure all is still working as it should.

We have a fairly local CHP (Combined Heat and Power) station here. I'm assuming there are others around the country, though I haven't checked. The heat is used for homes though, rather than food production, apparently.

One week of GCSEs down. Not brilliant, not disastrous. Bow is basically calm and just getting on with it, so that is very good. Favourite meals are being provided .

Glad to hear you're back out on the hills, FG.

Hang on in there Pat. The loss of taste must be very frustrating and depressing, but hopefully it's temporary? How many more chemo sessions does OH have?

He’s about to have no. 3 out of 6, LG, on Tuesday. I’m not coping very well, but keep trying.😡

Hang on in there Pat, nearly half way there.

@islander, lovely photo, reminded us very much of our late, much loved cat.
