    ..... I have a confession to make.

I went to the Garden Centre yesterday.
    ... and ...?
     :D:smile:

    Well

Weigela 'Black and White', Salvia Caradonna and calamintha 'white cloud' to replace the monster G. Rozanne I finally got around to lifting last weekend (and which is now in 8 large divisions elsewhere. I also have 7 root sections with 'nodes' that may or may not grow - 3 at least are sprouting - and one little root sucker plant. So potentially 16 out of one. Told you it was a monster). I have a G. 'Black Beauty' to go in that space as well, as it's not happy where it is. The space that Rozanne left is a bit more than 3m x 2.5m.  :o

And a veronica 'Tissington White' with a small dark leafed hebe for a spot where I currently have a small box plant I want to move.

And they were doing 5 little perennial plants for £10 so I got 15 - 6 ground cover plants (4 variegated ajuga and 2 shorter veronicas) plus 3 helenium Moerheim Beauty, 3 aster 'Monch' and 3 clary sage 'Mojito'. The 9 bigger plants I've potted on today as they were all climbing out of their pots and it turns out I have 5 clary sage.  :)

I had some gift vouchers for Christmas that have been burning a hole in my pocket  B)

Glad you had some plant shopping fun too, Obs. Iris lucky dip sounds like a grand game.

@islander - it would be no punishment to spend an afternoon weeding on your island. I wish it were possible. I remember distinctly the first time a very timid rescue dog we had tried to play with a little stuffed toy. Small things but they mean the world.

    Evening everyone.
I hope you are all comfy and relaxed tonight, particularly those with any ailments or worries. Special thoughts to Pat, for when you wake.
I have made the bold decision to stop faffing with my presentation and to stop reading stuff for my interview prep! I have a few days in work now so I think keeping relaxed and not getting too tired is more important. (Gulp).

Good luck with the interview Aunty Rach ....good decision.  Your subconscious will be doing all the work from now.

Amazing how quickly our garden is filling out .....looking very lush out there atm.

Got a treat tomorrow- been invited to the preview evening at Chelsea ....time to scrub those gardener’s fingernails and find a posh frock and some high heels 👠👗

Going again on Tuesday, under my own steam as a fully paid up RHS member.... think I will probably enjoy that more, but will be interesting to compare and contrast 😳

    Lucky you, Chicky!

Done almost nothing all day apart from open the GH in a sunny period and go to tea and coffee and walnut cake, 2 slices, with our friends in the village. Back aches now, maybe it needs to be kept active.

Up early this morning - OH has just left to take one of the dogs to the vet - she's booked for a dental today. I'll be going to pick her up later. Working this morning - at least that takes my mind off worrying about her - I hate it when they have to have an anaesthetic.

The sun's shining and it's warmer though - at last. All that warm weather last week didn't reach us here. We had to turn the CH up, never mind off. No frost in the forecast now though, so I've finally begun moving plants from hardening off - which has been for nearly 3 weeks - to planting out. It's still a bit congested in the GH - think it'll be a few weeks yet before I'll be able to see a gap in there.

Same here ... it’s not been what you’d call ‘warm’ ... I suppose we get the effects of cool air off the North Sea ... it wasn’t until I moved here from Suffolk that I realised how the climate up here in Norfolk is definitely ‘less gentle’ for significant parts of the year.
