You can see why I was smitten @islander ... a man with his heart in the right place ... only problem is he has a metabolism to die for ... hasn’t put on a pound in 24 years ... whereas I have a different metabolism ...🙄

I wish I could eat as I please. Love chocolate. My mother said all the fun things are illegal, immoral or make you fat!
Come in for a break. I've emptied the pots of violas on the garden side, now to add new compost (never empty them completely, earth under the compost) and I've moved the 2 old horses to a new paddock, having mended the electric fences first. The deer keep galloping through them.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Interesting news at patchwork today. Our outgoing president has resigned because of ill health - rolling migraines and allergies that no-one can track down - so doesn't appear much. She strolled in 90 minutes late, limping but smiling. Just come from the hospital. No, not good news about investigations and treatments.
Her elder sister, 37 and rather large all round, went into hospital this morning complaining of stomach pains. At 10:30 she gave birth to a 3.1kg boy. No-one knew she was pregnant! Two boys already aged 17 and 11 and on the mini pill cos of her weight and BP and all the baby gear has long since gone. Her OH went shopping this pm.
Surprises all round then.

I had a client who was ‘surprised’ like that ... and her husband was even more surprised ... I don’t think he ever quite got over the shock and always seemed to regard her as an unexploded bomb after that 😂

I can well imagine. They're apparently having the terrible teens with no 1 son. I expect he may be getting over them in time for this one to be going into the terrible twos - not that Possum ever did but they must have thought they only had 10 years of parental bondage left before being free to be on their own a bit and now look.

Amazing evening at Chelsea - lovely to see it without the crowds .....and those that were there had zero interest in flowers, and much more interest in 🥂and 🍢🥨.......so they were all crowded round the catering points, leaving me with the place to myself. Had some lovely chats with nursery owners. Some of the gardens are stunning .......and geums are definitely the plant of the show this year. About to do it all again as a punter, but this time I get to share it with friends who love flowers .......😍🌸. Somehow I think that will be even better 🥳😎
I am so jealous, Chicky. I have always wanted to go to Chelsea, but can't stand crowds and being pushed and jostled. Chatsworth the first year was bad enough. However, to be able to swan around with a glass of champers, able to see the gardens and talk to interesting people, that would be heaven.
All the trees that were down next door have been shredded (criminal waste of good timber) and cleared. They had a huge mower type thing, radio controlled by what looked like a 20 year old playing with a toy car. It went back and forth, grinding up all the small bits and ivy etc. They still have not yet applied for planning permission. I think a few random seeds may float in that direction. I look at it and think it would make a lovely wildflower meadow.
Lovely blue skies here. The garden is calling me. Have a good day , folks.
The best laid plans are being amended ... @WonkyWomble’s wheels require a bit of attention ... hopefully Glyn the Garage will have got the problem sorted by Sunday/Monday and she’ll come and help in the garden then ... we’ll postpone our trip to Bressingham a bit ...

@chicky that all sounds lovely ... from the tv coverage so far I’d thought that foxgloves were the plant this year.
