My phormium has lots of flower spikes this year. The apple tree is loaded with blossom. I think it must be the after effects of the long hot summer last year.
Hope everyone is managing to get into the garden. It’s terriblycold up here but the strawberry patch is a disgrace and I thought in the fruit cage on a stool I would be fine however the fruit cage won. Tipped over and landed full length sideways. Not a pretty sight. I am covered in nettle stings. Our weeds this year are giant ti be spectacular. What do you all use? I dint want to hurt the insects or bees but my goodness it’s depressing out there.

Oh dear LillyPilly, what a disaster - sounds though just the kind of thing I'm prone to do. I'm now forbidden to climb on anything unless there's somebody else around.
Flipping cold here too with a very naughty northerly but that's OK as I've been indoors cooking all morning and then lunch with the 3 in-laws and a couple we've met here. Chappy was on the school rugby team with BIL - a long time ago as they're both 72 this year. Turns out he can talk for England. As senior SIL said, so eloquently after they left "I'd rather go on holiday with him for a week than a fortnight". She's from Yorkshire and can be much more blunt.
Now I need a snoozle and a warm and probably some ski socks.
Chicky you must be relieved and exhausted all at once. Hugs.
You too LP. Can you strim the weeds before they seed? Can OH do it for you or is he not to be trusted?
Pat - well done for getting OH to eat even if he can't really taste it. More hugs to both.
Gorse has been in bloom along coast roads and motorways round here since Xmas. Some is still at it and looks very bright along with the self sown California poppies in day-glo orange.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

So am I ... and if there’s anyone else around he insists on doing it 💕

Oh dear Lily, stinging nettles are not nice, I just try and dig out what I can, I have more wild life areas here than borders at the moment, it’s a good excuse not to do too much, something might be nesting in there. The weeds do seem to be of giant proportions this year. Im in now, PJ’s on and thick socks.

Baby steps LilyP, baby steps 😀. Strimming sounds a great idea
Thanks for all the hugs guys ....you’re the best 😍😍😍. Dad was on good form today. I went via his house, so could reunite him with his razor, his iPad and his Telegraph coupons. His iPad caused the most excitement ....happy 10 minutes catching up with his grandchildren on instagram 🤪🥰. He maybe 81, but he’s on the ball ⚽️
Meant to say .....gorgeous pic from Pdoc a few days ago .....made me all teary ☺️
