Morning all, afties/evening Pat. How has your day been? I haven't really got a handle on your OH's health, but after reading back a little, I can see he's really been through the mill. Nearly half way. Look after yourselves as best you can, and live in the moment. Just reading your post about your shoulder, Dove. When I got x rayed, they asked me if I'd had a previous accident, as they could see the little lump stuck there. It was the bit broken off my arm [which hasn;t moved anywehre] but they were talking about how these calcifications appear on folk our age, especially if there's been a previous injury. The woman I worked with had one suddenly materialising recently too, which is causing her a problem. Not much you can do which is a drag. Hope the jaggy hand is better today chicky.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Still no rain here a little drizzle yesterday early evening but nothing more, not sure what me & @Hostafan1 have done to upset him upstairs but can we have some proper rain - pretty please
Hello again, everyone. Thanks for your positive thoughts. We are both struggling, but as you say Fairy, we just have to keep going. He commented a little while ago, that if I hadn’t been here to cook a meal tonight, he wouldn’t have bothered, so he is admitting that he needs a carer. A woman from the community aid people was here on the weekend and has suggested that I should put myself up for it. Will get a small financial incentive which might be a help.
Because being hypothyroid can be linked to osteoporosis my GP told me to take calcium supplements .... now it turns out that being on levothyroxine can impact on how our bodies process calcium supplements and there is a theory that this can cause these flippin’ calcifications 🙄 so now I’ve stopped the supplements and try to get plenty of calcium in my diet which ‘they’ say is processed better.
Hopefully the fact that Ive always been blessed with ‘large bones’ having the build of an Ardennes heavy horse rather than an Arab, will work in my favour re osteoporosis 🤞

Thanks Dove. Sorry about the calcium thing. It occurs to us, more and more, that we don’t really know half enough about lots of things. Your experience is typical, in my opinion.😡
Be aware of your sleeping position and ensure that your head and neck are well supported if you sleep on your side.
My son had a very painful shoulder a while back ... it turned out that because of the cramped bed space on the boat, the position he was sleeping in was stretching ligaments in his shoulder ... a scan revealed similar damage to that caused by a dislocation 😨

I had problems with stiff/sore shoulder and neck for several months a few years back. Eventually worked out there was a draft in the bedroom - not enough for me to feel it particularly, but affecting my normal sleeping position. One tin of squirty foam later, no sore shoulder.
I have a confession to make.
I went to the Garden Centre yesterday.

Home from the plant fair. Not as big or as varied as last time but the sun shone and it was warmer than expected so no complaints. The retired Iris man was there with a cunning plan - buy 3 of his bigger iris at 7€ and get one of our choice free plus a pot luck, surprise iris from a selection whose labels he'd lost. I do love iris and our display has been really good this year so more please.
Also bought a fine, cut-leaved, very dark purple acer and an azalea with pink and white flowers and some perfumed dwarf pinks. Good haul. Everything has had a good drink, plus the other pots, and now I might need a snoozle. Good lunch.
Pat - yes, investigate the care option as it will surely provide some relief for you too.
