Good morning and a special hello to Fairy. I was feeling a bit lonely so nice to have a neighbour again. I think Joyce has gone onto the other thread.
glorious day forecast. O H is up in the city all day today and I have been dared to get carried away in the garden. Might do a wee bit and the go to our grower nursery with baskets as he always does a beautiful job . 2 16” baskets crammed with thing for £27 each walking is best for me so it’s twice round the wood again although uneven Chicky love your visitor does he do a lot of damage? Hope Punk has the sun cream on. He is in the best place in the country.
Have had to bow out of the wedding on Saturday,my physio says it’s the worst possible environment for me, standing around under stress trying to cope with the crowd (unknown ) so I have to tell the grooms mother tonight. I find this itself stressful as I haven’t a clue what to say. I don’t think she believes I have been unwell since Christmas! all ideas welcome!
enjoy this marvellous day

Hi Fairy! Great to see you again. 24/25C sounds perfect to me - t-shirt weather.
LP - sometimes you have to put yourself first so just call her and tell her you're sorry but you are unwell and will not, despite your best desires, be able to come to the wedding. If you know the groom too, talk to him. Wish them all the best for the day. If they are real friends they will understand and wish you well and, surely, have too much on their plate to dwell. If not, who needs friends that don't care?
Chicky - gorgeous but not good for gardening. We see some around here from time to time but they stick to the woods and fields when they think no-one's looking. Wild boar ditto. Don't want either in the garden.
I have been outside playing football with Bonzo and watering the pots down in the potager. Plants in pots the PT are looking so lush I daren't bring them outside yet as it is still very windy and a tad chilly. Lots of bits of poplar tree lying on the grass this morning. Sheets of corrugated metal roofing supposedly held down by big stones flying around a couple of days ago. No damage but not good.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Thanks folks. Nice to 'see' you LP - don't sugar coat it. Tell her straight - you're not well, you haven't been well for a long while, and although you hoped you'd be well enough to make it, it's clear it would be very unwise. If she can't accept that, it says a lot more about her than you. Weddings often seem to bring out the worst in some people too, so keep that in mind. I don't know how well you know her, but if she knows you reasonably well, I'd have thought she would be aware of the difficulties you have just now. x I've just had a brief skim of a few pages and see that doc's up in Gairloch. He picked the right week. Hope it gives him some rest and recuperation. I have to take issue with you Lizzie - the Highlands are always beautiful, even when you can't really see them LG - the prize money is an extra bonus for winning. Hope it was enough to buy more than a bag of sweets Better go for a quick walk round the doors before it's too hot. Catch you all later.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
@Lily Pilly just tell the wedding folk that you don’t want to risk spoiling all the arrangements and disrupting the wedding by collapsing and needing an ambulance ... and leave it at that. If they can’t accept it that’s their problem not yours. You’re following Doctor’s Orders (and ours 😉)

Lily P tell her what the physio said. Regarding Joyce, several Forkers have gone to the other thread. I've been told it gets too political here and they like light hearted chatter. It's a shame, I miss some of them.
Today I must sort out the GH and fill the cold frames with plants to harden off. The GH tomatoes badly need planting and there is no room until I put a load of plants outside.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Chat on here is generally light-hearted but we can, on occasion, get aerated and usually with justification. The other chat thread aims to be frivolous all the time but it's like all work and no play - just as bad when it's all play and no work. Dull IMHO.
As long as people keep B****T on its own thread I don't see a problem with opinionated chat or people who have opinions whether I agree or not.
No greenfinch this morning but no other birds either despite fresh ground feed. Plenty for the "swingers" as the fat ball feeders and the fat blocks with insects and mealworms are all well-stocked. Maybe a tad windy.

Shame ... I miss Joyce ... but I also like conversation rather than chatter ... I'm an adult and accept that not everyone shares my views about everything ... that doesn’t mean that things can’t be talked about nicely ... the only things that get my dander up are cruelty, violence, racism, sexism, homophobia and stuff like that 😡
Not discussing politics (politely and with respect for other folk ) leads to the factionalisation of society which can lead to the stuff that gets my dander up 😡
That’s my view ... you are of course free to disagree with me ... nicely 😉

Thank you all so much. I truly do t recognise the person I am at the moment absolutely no confidence, find it hard to go out Talla and I make a good team, a little exercise and we are bushed. My poor OH has been/ is being marvellous and is thrilled we don’t have to go to the wedding but he did come up with a good idea which is we will go and see the ceremony. That surely is the most important part?

lilyP - huge damage - so we keep most things behind bars 😮. Euphorbias are safe though- don’t expect they feel very nice on the tongue 👅😛😉

My PC seems to be having hot flushes so I've been busy organising files ready for a big backup and found this.
