  • @Purplerain,

Lucky you not having rain,..its coming down in torrents all day here,..even with waterproof clothing the damp sets in after being out for a few hours and of course all plants soaked and heavy.

Your ''Camelot Cream Foxglove'' being sterile reduces your chances of having seeds or the plant self seeding itself but you can take cuttings if you leave it alone after its finished flowering,..then next Spring take side shoot cuttings like i did with mine,..looking forward to seeing ''Camelot Cream'' when it flowers.

You are quite right 76 is not old,..come to think of it i will be that age in 18 months  B)

You were posting early,..before the small boy awoke,..i bet he was surprised to see his Mum and Dad,..small boys should always be taken in small doses,..otherwise they will wear one down,..i know this as i was once a small boy lol.

The first real bloom from the Delphiniums and a very wet bloom.

There are two Arches in this image the first and nearest is self supporting.

    @Fran IOM,

We have the same Forecast ''Rain'',..with a strong breeze though not a cold day.

Ah yes my tall Foxgloves are getting a hammering today as they being so tall with beautiful blooms to see but prone to damage from high winds and rain,..very top heavy,..so i always stake them,..the tallest is nearly now just short of 7Ft ,..its the one on the right of the image below.

The two below are going to be as tall,..a different colour as well.

Having different coloured blooms produces interesting colours when the seeds are collected,..and sown,..or let self seed,..as the Bees pollinate them and Foxgloves cross very easily.

I managed to get sleep,..though its a vicious circle as it comes around like an old record,..its no bother if one had nothing to do but sleep when feeling sleepy lol,..but it comes when most inconvenient and certainly not at night.

Congrats on your Battery Operated Lawnmower,..that was a very nice surprise and a thoughtful one as well,..congrats to you.

Oh the Hedgehog appeared just after 0200 in the morning,..i was awake of course lol.

Morning all  :) Short and sweet as another busy day ahead. Hope everyone is okay. @nultyphilip224, those sad faces looking at the rain - l know how they feel. However at the moment the sun is shining although it's a little breezy. Have a lovely day all. x

Lol @nultyphilip224 with that photo of Foxy Molly at the door and Whisper under her little shelter that you made. I will take cuttings of the foxgloves in Spring Philip. That is a good idea as I had been sending off for more seeds from Sarah Raven. I am on the hunt for white seeds to compete with @AnniD next year. I forgot that you being a small boy once would make you sympathetic to my plight. He was fun, and the house seems too quiet now, although I caught the cats smiling at each other.

@Fran IOM that battery operated mower sounds just the job for the allotment. I always think that if the grass looks tidy then the garden does too. I don't think you will lose the foxglove competition as mine vary between normal and small.

I am not going on my Wednesday walk today as it is raining again and the ground will be too muddy after a whole week of it. I wonder if it is going to be one of "those" Summers. I hope not. Hope all is well with you @Valley Gardener. What is your weather like? Have a good day all whatever you decide to do.

@Purplerain. I think I've posted in pms!!!  Silly old trout! I don't have a clue what I'm doing at the moment!
Weather here sunny, but not due to last unfortunately! My white Poppies are looking very sad,it's just not warm enough for them to open.
@AnniD.  I'm following all you have to say about the overloading of threads, not that I'm understanding the problem fully, but will go along with whatever is suggested.
@FranIOM. That's great news about your mower gift, you're right, that's something you get instant results from ( Ive been known to do edging with scissors, when the children were small and I had no spare cash for clippers!)
    @nultyphilip224
I'm enjoying your pics very much! The various Foxgloves are stunning,so are your walks!

I will go out and check stuff today, maybe cut back some of the Buddlea,it's encroaching on my clems! Also look for frogs, they aren't developing very quickly because of the cold.
Have a good day folks, hope the weather holds for you all.😉

    Good Morning all.
Sun is shining after yesterday's continual rain. Will try and keep this short and sweet as going out later.
@AnniD Just realised that you said the same as me! Hope you get through your busy day and maybe some gardening as well. Have you decided where to put the fuchsias yet?
@Purplerain Looking forward to using the mower. Maybe one day I shall have a "lawn".
It certainly looks better already but I am banned from walking on it at the moment with the topsoil over the top. There is a little pathway so I am still able to feed the birds.
@Valley Gardener My red poppies look sad. There are a few flowers but the rain doesn't do them any favours. Bless you for using the scissors! You just had to make do with whatever in those days when money wasn't available. I would probably have done the same. We were lucky in that wherever we lived the garden tools were mostly provided. Like you I don't feel as though I know what I am doing half the time. I have a Buddleia which was only newly planted last year and it I have never seen anything grow so quickly. Really feel as though I am going to have to cut most of it down as if it carries on it will be as tall as the apple tree.
@nultyphilip224 Although we had rain yesterday it wasn't too heavy so I actually did some work on the allotment! Didn't get too wet. Those foxgloves would win a prize I am sure. Lovely photos of Foxy Molly and Whisper as always. Thought you would have to be awake to capture the hedgehog! Nothing more annoying than falling asleep in the day or evening and then you feel as though you have lost out on time.

Will need to get things done before going out.
    Enjoy you day.

Please ignore the second photo of the grave stone .........I'm not very good at this photo sending  yet. Feel free to delete it philip!
But the  yellow flower is the  follow up of the one I sent earlier,

      after sowing two year ago
Which started off as what looked like a tuft of ornamental grass ,hardy through winter,  the centre  began like a fox tail lily crown,
Progressing to what I have now.
The one that I  put in a pot flowers have finished and
    has now produced seed like
    Pods.
Everything except a name.I don't think it is one of our native species
    I welcome Any ideas

I now think that seed came from The Hardy Plant Society. The seed exchange program has members from abroad I can't help thinking it may be a South  african as a last resort I shall contact the other members of the society but I will give it a bit longer.
