GD.. that pot is way too small for anything other than one season only... it's good for a year to buy some time, but not in the longer term unless you root prune every year.... for a climbing rose you need something at least 2 foot deep, like this one below...
Yes, I will have to make an expensive trip to the GC before too long @Marlorena. I just wondered if posting on here might bring to light someone who has managed to grow a rose in a pot of that size. Admit defeat GD!
Gorgeous @Hazyb. When Munstead Wood is good it it really bloomin marvellous! Shame my three are so miserable in the heat (even in the shade). I am going to replace with Burgundy Iceberg and treat myself to a Night Owl too. Both should hopefully do better for me 🤞

This is a Westerland rose which was put in the soil as bare root last October from Peter Beales roses. It has done very well; it seems to have skipped sleep and creep and has made a little leap. The flowers have an amazing palette with yellow, orange and pick all included at various stages of bud and flower. I assume this is still the honeymoon period, but so far I really love this rose. It has great scent, beautiful stamens, and flowering not really in flushes but andante and sustained, each flower worhty of attention.
@Ffoxglove my roses change colour all the time, depending on the heat - the hotter it is the more they go pink, so it’s probably down to temperature changes with your Susie.
Lovely open style bloom on your Westerland @micearguers

She repeats really well and quickly and puts up with being in a pot but her growth is sort of spindly as foliage is a bit sparse.
