GD.. that pot is way too small for anything other than one season only...  it's good for a year to buy some time, but not in the longer term unless you root prune every year.... for a climbing rose you need something at least 2 foot deep, like this one below...

The last remaining roses on Munstead Wood

I had to stake Sexy Rexy in last week’s rain. Top heavy with blooms.

No roses on Scepter’d Isle but new growth appearing.

  • Yes, I will have to make an expensive trip to the GC before too long @Marlorena. I just wondered if posting on here might bring to light someone who has managed to grow a rose in a pot of that size.  Admit defeat GD!

My goodness, what a thing of beauty, Hazyb!  My front garden bed would love one of these.

Gorgeous @Hazyb. When Munstead Wood is good it it really bloomin marvellous! Shame my three are so miserable in the heat (even in the shade). I am going to replace with Burgundy Iceberg and treat myself to a Night Owl too. Both should hopefully do better for me 🤞

Thank you. It is a beautiful rose with a lovely scent.  Heavy rain can be unkind to it though.

On my morning walk around the garden I saw that Scepter’d Isle has given me a new bud.

This is my susie climbing rose which is now peach but the last flush was pink! Usually it's palest peach. Does anyone know why this happens?

    Here's my Tess.

She repeats really well and quickly and puts up with being in a pot but her growth is sort of spindly as foliage is a bit sparse.

@Ffoxglove my roses change colour all the time, depending on the heat - the hotter it is the more they go pink, so it’s probably down to temperature changes with your Susie.
