Evening all. Just having a rest while a fairylet cooks dinner. Why have a dug and bark yersel' fidget - I was thinking of you this afternoon while painting, because after our discussion here earlier about rescue, there was news of climbers caught in an avalanche on Nevis. When you dive, you understand the risks and you're well aware of your own capabilities, but there's always a risk. It's much the same thing with hills. As you say, the lifeboat men are fishermen or have lived and worked the sea all their lives. Hill rescue men and women are the same. Gey blustery and wet now, but the islands and coast are to get the worst of it. No chance of a walk this afternoon as the rain/hail came in quite early. Let me get on with my painting anyway. Good progress. Noggin the Nog for me. Brilliant. Never liked the Clangers [sorry!] and not the right age for Bagpuss I think. Or maybe I just never watched it.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
When my mother died a few years ago she let some money to the Lifeboats because my brother who died when he was 21, cancer, was a keen sailor. They have been in touch to say they are naming a coast guard boat after my brother and have invited the family to come to the launch.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
There was some glitch this morning BL. I couldn't get on and when I did it suddenly went again. That's a lovely thing to happen re the boat. I should have said it was r'girl mentioning that it's fishermen manning boats. Apologies. Glad you got back on r'girl, and haven't been flooded or blown away.

Agree about the peril on the sea hymn and one or two others where the music and words are just perfect and moving.
And @Manc_Debi. ... I think you’re right about Mary, Mungo and Midge living in a tower block 👍 ... or is @Hostafan1 right ... it’s all a blur 🤷♀️
