It took me a whole day to remove one from a pot last year,  big clay pot, didn’t want to break it.
the pots are only plastic, but they're about £6 each to replace and we certainly don't want any more plastic waste if it can be avoided, so I don't want to split them open.

I've had that problem too and did have to break the pot one time.  Now I soak the compost thoroughly and scrape down the sides with an old bread knife and I have been known to chop out a hosta in chunks to get it out of the pot.   Very careful now about which pots I use for hostas - none with curved in tops.

We've all made that mistake I'm sure.

Evening. You’ve been a chatty bunch.
Late home from work but did have a nice Chill Out Friday session with massage chair and Welsh Cakes earlier. I haven’t got round to making any Welsh Cakes yet - maybe on the rainy weekend. They are irresistible just cooked and warm 😋

I had to re-pot one last season that had split the plastic pot all by itself, it wasn't a thin cheap pot either. Probably my fault for not doing it earlier. This has also reminded me that I must divide the Big Daddy Hosta that's in the bottom bed it was getting too big for the space last year.

Hello everyone. I got logged out again yesterday, and couldn’t remember my password, so left it overnight. All sorted now, so Hi!

I’m fed up with the hot weather. I’ve got plants to put out in the veggie beds and elsewhere, but it’s so dry and hot, that nothing would survive. The ground s rock hard.  😡

Last summer was hot here, and I spent a long time every day watering. Even so, veg were not as good as normal years. I don't think I could cope with the heat you are having, Pat.  Look after the two of you, and stay indoors out of the heat.

Thanks Fidget. Apart from turning soaker hoses on and hanging one load of washing on the line, that’s it for me today. I’m inside now.😄
