I went on a speed awareness course, rather than get 3 points.
I have been pleasantly surprised, that it does seem to alter the way I drive.
How can you lie there and think of England

40 yeas ago when I worked on the ortho wards folk told me they were billed for an ambulance following an RTC, I was sent an ambulance about 20 years ago, Hubby was blinded by on coming car with main beams on, left road, up a bank hit an oak, then car fell back down onto the road, I never got billed.  I would bill the drunks, like the New Years Eve crowd, worked in the ED for 5 years when it was called Casualty, people do use ambulances as free taxis.

Change of topic as it's so miserable out there I have dug out the pressure cooker & the leek & potato soup will be ready in 5 mins. I used 2 1/4 pints of stock so there must be a few portions there but you will have to be quick :)
My OH tells me when her girls were little on miserable days like this they used to put a sheet over 2 chairs & have an indoor picnic.

We’ve just had homemade leek and potato soup too @Allotment Boy, and like your OH we used to play in ‘camps’ made out of furniture and blankets ... sometimes we used to pretend to be Rag, Tag & Bobtail. I expect most of you are too young to remember that tv series  ... it wasn’t on for very long.

@Dovefromabove of course I remember them my favourites were Tales of the river bank (responsible for my love of classical guitar music) & Noggin the Nog.

I loved Noggin and the River Bank.

My grandchildren make tents with furniture and blankets. Outside they make huts in the shrubby part of the garden with sticks from the woods, grass and leaves.

I must do some more pruning and trim the lavender, it's a bit windy but there are sunny periods.

Noggin 💖 Ivor the Engine 💕The Clangers 💗  Sheer Genius.  I still have some of those books that books I read to @WonkyWomble and her brothers and from time to time I take them down from the shelf and indulge myself. 😊

Yes they were gentler times before children became too "sophisticated" for their own good.

Theres a ‘new’ version of The Clangers on CBeebies... Michael Palin does the voice ... we sometimes watch it (big kids us).

It’s very nearly perfect - recommended if you want a trip back in time and don’t have a Tardis 😊
