One advantage of an early start is the fact that I am now finished for the day,  feet up and enjoying a cup of coffee.

Well that's certainly worth waking up for.  we were without heating and some electricity for a few hours yesterday . At least some of the sockets were working . I must label the heater before it goes back in the attic. Wonderful things - labels😊

Labels are all well and good @B3, but how will you read the label when it's in the attic? ... what you need is a list of what's up there and a plan of where everything is  ;)

Oh come on!!!! A plan? The closest thing to a plan is, stuff we really might need is near the hatch. Stuff that really ought to be in the dump  , further back.

When we moved in here ten years ago (is it really?!?!?!) OH flatly refused to put anything in the attic ... it's still empty ... the garage is pretty full but at least we can find things  ;)

That would be a good idea  but emptying this one is what's needed. Could do with some friends with strapping lads who would like to earn a few quid.
