When we visited my daughter after she had her thyroid out, she sat in bed and we were outside with a lead screen between us.
My ex had a thyroid operation in 1976, no mention of radio active, we visited him and he came home, not a word said about that. He looked like Frankenstein’s monster, throat cut from ear to ear and loads of stitches.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
Just woken up. I’m blaming the slice of toast and marmite I had at 9pm. I shouldn’t eat so late, it doesn’t agree with me. Time for a puzzlebaron logic puzzle, distract myself from worrying thoughts.
Having been shifting boxes, I think one was a bit heavy for me. My back is twinging. I thought so when I shifted it. I was packing old books and files. As couple of the old books were heavy. I'm surprised my shelving actually stayed up.
Do be careful @rowlandscastle444, you have a lot to do yet towards this move. Can you take a bit of a rest tomorrow for your back from the stacking and lifting? Hope you have now been able to get back to sleep - you too @Ergates.
Took a bit to get to sleep, but did sleep through in the end, as I did plenty to make me tired yesterday. Now its the wait till mid-day to take this pill, hope all this is worth it and will help the consultant diagnose why I have so much gut problems.
Well that went well. It was as easy as swallowing a pill and sitting in a chair for ten minutes. The annoying part was waiting for two hours between. No need to isolate, except from children, so no need to kick the hubby from the bed! Back in a week for two more scans, and then wait for the consultant 's appointment. Hope this is all worth it! Absolutely shattered now as it's been a bad day stomach wise, especially this morning, wasn't even sure I would get out of the house for the scan, but things tend to quiet down just after lunch so managed to go. Hope you all have a good night, I'm going to crash now hopefully. 😴

Hi @AnnaB There was no let up today. Bringing more boxes down from the loft. One LARGE box contaned lots of communication between myself and my girlfriend (now my wife), in the five years we were dating. Neither of us want to get rid of it all, but it came from our last home 22 years ago, straight into our loft, because we had the space - and because we are awfully sentimental. The box will probably go straight into the next loft. My wife is more pragmatic, but I am less so. But the box is heavy, and falling apart. I don't want to throw away our memories, particularly because I know that my memory is fading, and need to have reminders of our past. Today we got rid of our 30kg stereo system. Tomorrow we have a friend coming to take away our lovely oak dining table and six chairs. The new home needs something more compact. So, more lifting
