Such awful tales of woe and the fragility of the world wide web.😢 I remember in Ye Olde days when we moved, in the 1980's, it took us six weeks from start to finish and the only problem entailed us hot footing it , by car, to a BS miles away, with all our paperwork. Those were the days, of pen and paper......
Oh dear, that’s awful, @rowlandscastle444. I too remember the days when solicitors used couriers to shuffle the paperwork round to the various parties involved. Supposed progress sometimes seems like a backward step. Hope it all works out ok. And someone should sue the solicitor who didn’t have a secure enough system to avoid these problems. I do know a family who lost a sizeable inheritance when their solicitor decided not to hand it over, but skipped off to Thailand to live on the ill gotten gains, with evidently no way of being brought to justice.
I think you will reap the benefits sooner than that @rowlandscastle444 with just the peace and quiet 🙂 Just don't rush the unpacking and make yourselves too tired or ill. The new adventure begins.
Hi all and especially @rowlandscastle444. You will soon settle in and will be excited by getting new curtains etc for the new house. Exciting. All the best to you and your wife. 🤗
I haven't been around here at night because I have made a promise not to turn the phone on when I wake up. I have to say that there is some truth in keeping away from blue light at 3am. I have slept a tad better recently.
re: scams. It is such a sad world, my son is looking for a job so through linked in was called for an interview. It was a scam to recruit paying "students" to get a "world beating" training, thank heavens he got out of it quickly. He is street wise but very shy and not that good with people, a lad that easily looses confidence. I am very cross but glad that he could see through it.
We had no heating or hot water yesterday or this morning. It's been a touch chilly in the new place. Today we have got some heat out of the ageing system, and the temperature has gone above 15°C. Might sleep better tonight.

Late arrival yesterday, and all doors open to get stuff in. But also let the cold in.
Hopefully today we can sort out the heating and hot water. Then some curtains, and in the case of bedroom and lounge, curtain rails too.
But heating and hot water first.
Then unpack, and so much else. But, while there are problems here, compared to our previous house, the long term benefits are significant.
It is so quiet here compared to our old house. Bliss!
There's a lot of work to do, but it will be worth it, in about three to five years.
😊
