You are not losing your marbles @rowlandscastle444 never fear. You are under a lot of stress just now and this can make one a little confused at times. So ignore your good lady, take a deep breath and r e l a x............. Feel any better? I am noodling on here alternating with pacing round my room coz the restless legs are playing up again, but as usual they will settle down exactly after 5.30 and I will be allowed to get back to sleep - how do these 'annoyances' tell the time I wonder? Hope you get some sleep soon. ps I can hear the wind outside - but not your stomach so you are ok.
Thank you @AnnaB I did get back to sleep, but short bursts. Yes, it's stressful, and my wife is wanting us only to use the brown packing tape when our neighbours are out - because they will hear it.
I'm not fussed at this stage. Ten days time we will have the removal men here. Twenty two years of memories, being moved on.
We will miss this place, but not our immediate neighbours. But we will make a home elsewhere.
Did your restless legs settle? I can't imagine how that must feel. I hope you are now rested.
After 33 years in one home its hard to move @rowlandscastle444 , but like you the surroundings changed. I was no longer prepared to put up with noisy kids, dogs, and the change of neighbours, ( hubby says I'm a grumpy old woman 😆) in a terrace house with little garden. It took a year before I really settled, but it's the best thing we ever did for the peace and space.
Thank you @purplerallim My mind is still very active - as are my neighbours. Just when we were hoping they'd give us peace, be out or be in bed, they change their pattern of behaviour from bordering on the unreasonable and inconsiderate, to worse.
Just look forward to the new house, unattached, quieter, and a long way from them. I don't understand people now, their attitudes are foreign to me @rowlandscastle444
@purplerallim we are spending days packing boxes, and trying to catch up with ourselves. We move a week tomorrow, so yes, look forward to the unattached place. Our house is now cluttered with boxes, and I'm just about to order more!!

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

For that, I am very grateful.
Edited to add: My wife says I'm grumpy and constantly disagree with her. I tell her she's wrong - which she says proves her point. 🙄
Grrrr!!!
