  • It's amazing just how much stuff you accumulate in 20/30 years @rowlandscastle444 . We moved for the first time, as our house was the one we moved into when we married, and I had no idea just what it entailed. As we were looking for 18 months I naively thought this won't  take long so we had boxes piled in the spare room for a year.
  • This is our second move together. Last time we up-sized, so space for our stuff wasn't a problem.
This time we're downsizing, so it really IS  a problem. 😳🤔
  • Dustman came this morning. I think even they were surprised at the amount of stuff I'd put out.

I slept better last night. That I am grateful for.
Not wonderful, but every extra hour is a help.
  • Glad to hear you had a more settled night @rowlandscastle444 it all helps doesn't it
  • Thank you @purplerallim
It helps, but I can't imagine it'll ever be enough. At least, not in this life!!
But you never know, a new home in a new town, may be what I need.
  • As the move draws closer, the worrying increases.  At least all the large financial payments have been made. It's just the packing.

The loft is finally empty, for the first time in 22 years. Wife is having second thoughts about the move. Not a surprise really, since she's lived in this town all her life.

So here I am, still awake, doing enough worrying for a football team!!  I'm shattered.  I'm sure it'll all go well. I really could do with getting more rest.

It's odd, because I'm not normally the one who does the worrying. And at my age, I ought to be more relaxed.

By Christmas, with any luck at all, you'll be looking forward rather than back😊
    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • Thank you @B3
  • Hardly slept a wink. The insecurity of the move has kept me awake.

We're not even fully packed. There is so much to do last minute, and humanly speaking, it still might not happen, thanks to some sub-human individual who thinks it's amusing to carry out a cyber attack on solicitors.
    Not ours, but our buyers'.
No proof of funds, and the entire chain suffers.  We are praying that the solicitors will be able to come up with a solution that allows us all to make that move.
No move, and there are a lot of things that need to be undone.
Change of insurance, disconnection of phone, and installation of new landline, new gas and electricity contracts, transfer of water contract, change in council tax, due delivery of new furniture and food, redirection of mail.
All that, plus disruption of removal, and the financial implications.
  • No wonder you are stressed @rowlandscastle444 We too had a problem with our buyers funds not being there on time, but our solicitor came to a deal with theirs that we would all move and they would pay a fee for being late.
