Poor Wilderbeast! Are you still awake? What have you had done to your hand?
  • @Wilderbeast I’ve just read about your accident and injury 😱🤕 poor you!!! Thank heavens for the NHS 💙 (and for good neighbours too). I hope the pain subsides soon and they heal quickly. But oh, it could’ve been so much worse! A lesson to us all. 😲

Just read about your accident. You poor soul. Hope you got back to sleep? I was awake from 4 am for a couple of hours. Did my usual remedy of reading for a while, settle my mind down. Take it easy ( doesn’t sound like you have much choice on that) and make sure you have decent painkillers available.

@Dovefromabove thanks very much, I was wallowing in self pity (I am a man after all) lack of sleep normally means I go in the garden no matter what time of night and that's not going to happen for a while. NHS is amazing they've been mending me since my 1st set of stitches at 3 to my latest disaster.

@Ergates I did get some sleep about 6 til 930. The pain is karma reminding me that I'm a total @#*". Youngest son came and snuggled on the sofa in his furry onesie which was rather fantastic and brought a smile to both of us.
  • @Wilderbeast ... my late Pa grew up on a farm ... when he was a boy (early 1930s) his big brother John was hedging (proper job with a bill hook) and chopped his own thumb off. He went to the nearby hospital and the doctors asked where his thumb was?  Pa had to find it and cycle to the hospital with it ... they sewed it back on and it healed!!! He had no feeling in it ... I can remember being allowed to stick a pin in it when I was a child ... and it didn’t bend, but the blood supply worked and it was pink and healthy for the rest of his life. He was in his 70s when he died.
