It's called Uhtceare (dread before dawn) from "The wife's lament" a poem from the early Middle Ages. There was a thread about it but I can't find it.

    Moving is stressful.

I didn't sleep well either, thinking about my endo appointment.

@rowlandscastle444  … I find that some folk find a thing worrying whereas another person finds the same thing exciting … it’s all in the way you label it.

Also it sounds as if you’re experiencing ‘circular thinking’ … ask your GP for a referral for some Cognitive Behaviour Therapy to help with that. It can be really effective if practiced consistently 😊

@rowlandscastle444, try to take one subject/problem at a time. Deal with it( make a list?) and move to the next subject. Thinking of everything all at once, can be  overwhelming so I’ve learnt to tackle things an issue at a time.
When we moved my OH made a ( huge) list of things go to do and all the places we needed to advise of our move etc and bit by it, it all got done. Ticking each little job off was good too, as you can physically see that you still have control over what’s happening.
When Monday comes, just think about your appointment and nothing else. Focus on that until afterwards, nothing else.
I’m sure you’ll will know all this really but sometimes life can be very tense can’t it?

Today I dealt with water company, gas and electricity providers, phone provider, and local council, to tell them that I am soon to move.

Now, I can concentrate on my hospital appointment tomorrow.

Then I can tell all the other places that need to know - and at my age, that's the pension provider, doctor, hospitals, dentist, optician, etc.

I just can't get my sleep routine back on track and I've reverted to night owl again. :|
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Just popping in to wish @rowlandscastle444 good luck with the hospital appointment today.
  • I seem to have stirred up the sciatica by going to a choir practice (40 minutes by car) last night.  Been awake since 3 again - must get better painkillers...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

    Hello all.
I only woke up once, pill did its job. Today we are going to Maastricht to pick up OH specs so I had to have a good sleep.
@rowlandscastle444 all the best for today.
Ouch @Liriodendron, driving is not good for sciatica and back pain. But I would have done the same and gone out. Compromises. Hope it gets better.

  • Slept ok till 4am then woke and couldn't get back to sleep, which is not my usual pattern. Can't get used to these pitch black mornings yet.
  • It's about 2:15am, and there really isn't any change. I STILL am sleeping on and off. It's so quiet out. If only it were like this all the time. Soooo nice!!

    How are others today?
