    @plant pauper , can’t beat a bit of luck 👍
  • Tidying up in the garden. Deadheading chrysanthemums, calendula, and dahlias. Picked some apples. Cut Swiss chard. Enjoyed the pollinators on the salvia and sedum. Cut back some of the dogwoods, as I need to repaint the fence.

    I chucked two bags of old spent compost I didn't want to use inside the garden as I suspected it was contaminated with tiny muscari bulbs, onto the grass verge outside our boundary. It doesn't matter if they do grow there and might even provide early nectar for pollinators. Later I picked some raspberries for dessert and then watered all the potted roses.

  • After a foggy start by 10am the heat was ramping up,  so no gardening in the high 20s for me in Lincolnshire.
  • Not yet but having completely completed my 'greenhouse' staging yesterday I'm going to 'Delaney's Donkey' it into position and theeeen plant the rest of my seeds. Only nine more packets to go. 😳

    Went to allotment yesterday morning cleared all the outdoor tomatoes 🍅 some where going off , gave a load of green ones to a friend who wanted to make green tomato chutney
    came home mid day as temperature got up to 28 degrees

    Did a few jobs in garden in the early evening when it had cooled down a bit
  • Pruned some of the dogwoods today. Then my wife inadvertently locked me out of the house and back garden, thinking I'd gone indoors. She was surprised to see my face at the back gate.
    And I was watering HER hydrangea! That's the thanks I get.
    Oh well, love is forgiving her!!😁

    Too hot for any gardening today🥵
  • I put gravel on my succulent babies and then sat in the cross breeze, what there was of it, between my two garage doors. Quite the best brainwave I've ever had.
  • Yes far too hot 28° yesterday,  25° today, and 28° due tomorrow .🥵🥵🥵
    But I did water the tomatoes and pick the Raspberries before the heat.
