Our windows are plastered with snow. Can't see the garden, but I've just been out to top up the bird feeders, so it's still there. Not actually that much snow yet, but a fierce easterly is making as much of it as it can!

We had torrential rain most of the morning so didn't get out until mid-day when I just walked round the garden removing most of my anti squirrel ex milk bottle halves from the bulbs which are now trying to bloom.

Hoping for better weather and possibly some sunshine tomorrow.

  • It rained all day. horrible.
I can see the flowers on the Sophora, a little touch of golden yellow in the gloom. I must move it out of its container into the garden this year.
I did contact the gardeners who came a few weeks ago, asking them to come again. She hasn't come back to me so I am assuming my garden did not suit them.
  • no gardening for me today! up in the north we had snow yesterday it's going away a bit but its not fully gone and it's cold, so I'll be having a relaxing day i think

It's funny but yesterday Lincoln white over, GWRS ( between us and Lincoln as we are 9 miles away from Lincoln) had some settling,  but us snow all morning but none on the ground!
Today just continuing to rain, so no gardening.

No gardening for several weeks due to a broken ankle. So I have spent time reading the forum gardening queries going back some time. What struck me was the sensible answers to the variety of gardeners queries but there appears to be very little feedback if the suggestions were taken up which resolved the problem. Maybe a foot note to the original query stating what happened next would be useful to readers even if it was some time later.
  • Another horrible day. Dark, grey, foggy, very wet. No gardening.

I got into the garden briefly yesterday to tidy up a few things, move a few pots of spring flowers into better view from the kitchen windows and planted a few forgotten bulbs as the ground was at last soft enough to dig and the temperature warm enough for me to work in (they won’t do anything this spring, of course, but might next, you never know).
  • Went out yesterday, briefly, and rebuilt my bird bath. Horrible again today so a reluctant dog walk and some shopping. Heavier rain forecast.
