I too, had to water all the pots tonight, but fortunately they didn't take as long as yours did Allotment Boy.

Another day at the hospital today so no allotment did get out on the balcony's this evening and tie in the clematises and some unruly bamboos also took down the old hay manger as it needs a new liner.

I will have to get a trip to the allotment tomorrow and the wife hopes to come as well and we need to get some fresh air after a week of doctors surgeries and hospitals.

Hampshire Hog when do you get the results of. The scan. Hope they are good for you both Regards to you and your wife.Plant It  up in Yorkshire.
  • Hope your wife is better Hampshire Hog and that you are doing ok also, hope you get outside as planned🙂

I finished work an hour early yesterday and just sat in my garden and it was fab. Honeybees paddling in the pond sludge, bumbles bumbling, the tiniest bee fly I've ever seen (I don't like the word cute, but it was so cute) and a splendid wasp hanging around one of my roses, helping itself to aphids with any luck.

Been out already and deadheaded a few daffs and watered some bits.  Weather app is now showing ☀️☀️☀️☀️ for Easter weekend. Previously was sun/cloud with a dash of rain. Whoop!

    Plant, Vic
Thanks: we had some preliminary results yesterday afternoon and talked to the hospital consultant he is now going to talk and send the scans to her long term consultant in Oxford on Tuesday so we should hear more Wednesday or Thursday with a view of doing some newfangled spinal stem cell experiments  :/

Anyway on the bright side the sun is shining and I'm off to get a load more compost before the shops get to busy, will come back for breakfast and then we are off to the allotment.

  • Nothing like a spot of gardening to take your mind off the more serious side of life - hope all goes well for your wife H_Hog.
It is our 43rd Wed Ann today and we continue as we started 43+ years ago, working on the land. As a test for his stickability my late father gave my then finance a patch of land to cultivate to grow veg. He obviously passed the test as here we are 43 years later!
So far today I have put some new plants in the bog garden - some grasses, a Jacob's Ladder and thrift.  Not sure about the thrift but as I grew it from collected seed, nothing ventured.  There are already hostas, gunnera and bog iris growing there.

Happy Anniversary @Guernsey Donkey2, nice way to spend it !
Have managed to empty one of the cold frames (for the time being at any rate), and pricked out 4 seed trays worth of seedlings.  Come in for a late lunch - weather is beautiful  B)
