Yes it is @Flowerpotlady.  It seems manure makes root veg fork( suppose if you don't mind wonky carrots its ok) 🙂, but such alot to learn. There is a good post about crop rotation elsewhere here with a simple explanation. Such helpful folk in here.🙂

:) Thank you to those who liked my new veg garden photos.
Yes it looks very nice, good work.
  • This afternoon I cleared MORE blanket weed from the large pond.  No doubt I will be doing it again this time next week!
In the morning I planted some lovely red flowered pelagoniums in our driveway - they do look good among the green daffodil leaves.

Very busy morning doing other stuff, so just pottered around this afternoon.  Deadheaded  pulmonarias and cut back penstemons and some of the larger shrubby salvias. Found some self seeded nemesias in the stones near back door so rescued them and potted up. Have decided to make a list of what needs doing, l'm sure that will work and l won't get sidetracked.........

@Gardengirl.. Yes, they came up very quickly. I've only got 5, there aren't many seeds in the packet. Have no idea where to put them though!  Had to dig up a Potentilla 'Abbotswood' so new concrete spurs can be put in and replanted it in one of my front garden beds. Found lots of either privet hedge roots or tree roots (both nearby) so watered it well in as soil very dry. I've other plants to dig up as well from the same bed but they're smaller perennials which can wait a bit.

Spent the morning giving Secondborn's house a clean so it will b lovely when she gets back from holiday.  Spent the rest of the day in the garden.  Dug up 3 black bin liners of grape hyacinths.  Hubby finished reshaping the front lawn while I dug up all the gravel on the front garden and barrowed it round the back to beef up the gravel patio.  Then removed the dreaded weed membrane from the front garden and dug over the area as it was very compacted.  I now have a lovely new border to plant up.  I had some trees to plant but was too shattered so they will have to wait till tomorrow, if I can move that is.
Hi from Kingswinford in the West Midlands
  • Finished emptying these pots , replanting what was salvage able around the garden (which included finally moving some turf I dumped last year to  make a new  bed )   Washed them up and planted a few tatties along the way, I am pretty sure one of those sacks you can see doesn't actually have any tatties in it guess will find out which one soon enough. Now eating my 3rd hotcross bun of the day, contemplating how I will find space in my porch for the dahlia tubers which from a quick glance the other day should have been planted at least 4 weeks ago , suppose they will definitely die if I leave them in the cupboard so might be a devil and put them straight outside and try and remember to check for frost..

Still flat out here between Allotment & garden. Was on top of everything but as weather warms I am now behind already. Have (mostly) put up new green wall system decided to make it bigger than first planned, potted up everything that came out of old wall &  potted on some of the new acquisitions, new system means we will need lots more plants- good excuse to go to GC and spend some more money. Will post pictures when its done so you can see what I am talking about. Spent last 11/2 hours today watering the rest of the garden- so dry already!

    Finished off the mowing.
Moved rudbeckia from front to the back, only one of six has signs of new growth so far.
Bought a couple of purple perennials and more sweet williams for the front.
More rosemary and cypress goldcrest for the back.
