@Songbird-2 I seem to have been splitting and making free plants for weeks. I don't know where they're all going to go.
I tried to pry some crocosmia Lucifer out of a giant pot. There was wrestling and maybe a bad word! (or two...). I finally got about five teeny weeny bulbs so I'll have to have another go when I regain some energy and dignity. 🤣
    Gotta love free stuff.

Hello , lots of little jobs done in garden today , however , rain did stop play at mid day but that worked out fine as had lunch
One of the jobs was to get rid of some carnations that had gone woody , they had been in the ground for years under a bush , did take some cuttings , mulched the ground with gravel which I find makes weeding easier

Have a good bank holiday everybody , going to allotment tomorrow as the weather should be good

  • Gardening by proxy.
My daughter called in yesterday and watered and fed the tomatoes. She picked the tomatoes, runner beans and the first of my apples for me.
When I went to take the washing out of the machine I found a pile of suds in rot of the machine, fortunately there was a pile of towels on the floor waiting to be washed which soaked up the water so I now have a pile soaking wet towels waiting to be dealt with, am waiting for the local electrical serviceman to come and check things out. Probably a new machine.

I left the hubby to look after the greenhouse for the long weekend,  as we were out for a couple of days.
Today I find that yes he picked the ripe ones, no he didn't pick the cucumber marrows 🤦‍♀️, and a tom plant had come adrift from its support and is now bent in half with all the toms buried under a pile of leaves!🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️
So this mornings unexpected job is to cut back the leaves, under which I found a dozen ripe Sunchocola, and then set to cutting back the rest of the tomato plant leaves in the rest of the greenhouse. 🙄 I suppose it got me out of more weeding.
Oh we did make five jars of tomato pickle on Saturday.

I only did half an hour or so late as it's been mostly drizzly today. My gardener however did more than me and weeded an awkward side bed on a slope for me. Picked more fallen apples, pruned apple and gooseberries and cut the delphiniums right down.

Hello , went to allotment yesterday morning I dug up a bed of potatoes 🥔 they where small , as expected as the tops had disappeared weeks ago

And O/H did lots of harvesting , some of the out doors tomatoes 🍅 where not looking to good so pulled them up and today made green tomatoe chutney

Some of the strawberry plants are starting to flower again ! Strange

Did some small jobs in garden yesterday afternoon and again today

I made most of a cold frame. Does that count as gardening?
Once I figure out how to cut diagonals with my circular saw I'll be flying! 😳 They're a bit /\/\/\/\.

Sadly just threw out my chilli plants grown from the free seeds that came with this magazine. Had great success growing them but to hot for us and was unable to give them away (including the pots ).

I'm chuffed to bits @GWRS. I put the window in and it fits perfectly. More luck than skill! 😊 Hopefully the next one will go as well.
