I haven't done any gardening today but yesterday OH did a valiant effort digging out the remaining two smallish clumps of bamboo from a stone trough. As it's nearing the season for nerines to start flowering, I think I'll just sink the pots in the soil in the trough for the time being and think about planting them properly next year. The soil was absolutely bone dry which is a bit of a worry.
So sorry to hear that your health problems are continuing @Joyce Goldenlily, that must be such a worry.
Really not done as much in the garden as I would like. I enjoy the watering. It's relaxation for the soul and mind. Calms the agitated mind. But, it's raining, so I am indoors. Eating chocolate!! Life could be worse - very much worse.
Yesterday I potted up fox and cubs, sowthistle (I think), red clover and other stuff I don't know. It's for 'the bit along the sheugh' which can't get mowed for fear of death or injury and has little tracks all along it from the local wildlife. At the minute it's full of manky stuff so I'm hoping to introduce some colour and interest for the critters.
I tidied up a winter flowering clematis and tied viable bits onto the trellis behind the stone trough I've just emptied. Gave it a good water as it's jammed into a very narrow bed between paving. Hoping to go back out in a minute after I've drunk my tea and dig two holes in the trough soil to sink my two pots of nerines.
Then I helped OH clear up after he cut our big front hedge. The two green bins were emptied this morning - now they are full again!
Not outdoor gardening but deseeded grapes, prepared the pea beans for blanching, decanted 3 demijons (blackcurrant x2 and gooseberry). Watered in the polytunnel.
I've cut some Crocosmia back today which have now finished flowering. Tidied up the Pittosporum which was invading the path and dug out a cowslip and replanted elsewhere...after pulling gently apart and getting another five small plants ( free) out of the clump to plant out further down the border. They have filled some small gaps nicely.
