  • Other than the usual watering, planted out some of my calendula seedlings, just to see if they survive. Got plenty more in the conservatory, in case they don't.

Toms are growing, putting on a few inches every few days and the first toms have set on the Sungolds.

Your toms look good and far bigger than mine, when did you sow them please? Were they sown early in a propagator?

Evening @LeadFarmer the toms are GC bought, hence the size, I just grew them on.

I don't have the time to grow toms from seed unfortunately, I wish I did as there are loads of varieties I would like to try that you simply can't buy in a Garden Centre.

I emptied the last of the home grown compost into bags then moved this years pile into the now empty bin. There is something magical about getting to the bottom of that heap and finding all that lovely compost.

I’ve no idea what I’m doing.

Just got back from a short trip away so have been out watering plants in pots, some newly planted roses and clematis. My delphinium looks very healthy and quite tall but can't see any flower buds yet.

    You are all so busy!

I noticed my Holly had abundant blossom this year @GWRS

I’m just in a small limbo this week as minimal veg to tend and nothing needs potting-on yet this week. As it’s Chelsea week, I can watch that or just potter. I’m doing a house plant vacation today - topping up with soil and giving a good soak then drain.

Not much today, watered the spuds and removed side shoots on the toms.

Thought about planting out the French Beans but wasn't sure, don't want the slugs to get them.

Are they big enough to go out?

Yes I would put them out @Sheps When they have 3/4 leaves they are tall enough to be out of slug reach 🤞mine are out and a second sowing in the ground have just pushed up, so the soil is warm enough.

French Beans planted out this morning.

Couldn't bring myself to throw away the spares, so maybe not the best idea but doubled up in the brown pots and the last one went in next to the spuds to grow up an obelisk.
