Finally got round to clearing out my corner of shame- got a huge pile of stuff for the tip this weekend! Tidied up all my empty pots, planted my main crop spuds in large tubs, more watering, shovelled and riddled a barrowful of soil from the turf stack to go to the new border and nipped to the garden centre for some ericaceous compost to repot my blueberry bushes... ran out of time after that! 😀
Potted up my dahlia tubers, just as well as some of them had started to sprout ! Also potted up begonia tubers. The irises in the front garden have started to flower (can never remember which is which, but they're the ones that need a good baking) . It's the end of March ! Have never known them this early before.
I potted on some small Verbenna Bon things that had seeded themselves in a Dahlia pot. We scattered the seed on new wild flower bed and after watering and raking noticed a pigeon (probably the first of many) having a mid morning snack, it will be the cats next doing their business - grrrrr. At least I planted a good quantity of plug plants there over the past few months which are well established and beginning to put on good growth. I also planted up 3 lavenders and a white flowered Hebe.
Did a bit of weeding, fed all of the clematis (think I may have lost one) and have cleared up animal sh*t from the centre of 3 carex. If I see the animal that is doing it he/she will have my boot up it's backside. Been studying plant porn for the shady area outside my kitchen window. Think another camelia might form part of the display, just not sure which one.
Filled two new grow bag's with compost planted up each with the cucumber F1 Baby grown from seed in poly tunnel, also pricked out twenty-six Physalis alkekengi "Chinese lanterns" I like the fruit I know not to everyone's taste and you do need to be sure it's fully ripe the side effects are not very pleasant. 🤢🤮 🚽🧻
Appears we have a rat or two around the compost heap so borrowing a friends Jack Russell's and will be taking them down tomorrow to sort that problem out.
Generally did some pottering around watered all the pots and seedlings and checked for pests none to report 😊 sat around enjoying the sunshine it's been a beautiful day.

Watered the plants ( can't call them seedlings as the toms are six inches now) fed birds. When hubby got home moved another half ton of top soil, feels like digging to Australia! Cherry tree only just planted is now starting to bloom, as is the plum still feels a bit early.
Saved 6 frogs and toads from next doors derelict pond(empty and being filled), some are pregnant so may get some more spawn. Potted up the blueberry bushes and some mint, repotted a houseplant and put a barrow of loam into the new border. Gorgeous day!
Been in the garden all day with son we are building me a cold frame. Now you heard of Topsy and how she grew well this happened to my small cold frame it's now 6 foot long x 2 ft 6 inches wide and I don't know how high. Will take some photo's when it's finished. Did manage to sow a few more seeds as well.
