Hedge cut (outside and top anyway- the inside can wait a few weeks until the forget-me-nots and snow-in-summer that are growing along the base have finished flowering). Hot and tired now so I've come in for a cuppa.
I've set up my TV box thingy to record the Chelsea programmes, then I can fast-forward through any bits that I find dull.

Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

Potting-on and fiddling about here. Not as busy as usual due the tomato fail 😢 so giving pumpkins a go for the first time! I don’t have the room really so might try the upright method.

Thanks for the Chelsea reminder @GWRS

The carrot seeds I'd sown on damp sheets of kitchen roll (previously the seeds failed to germinate outside), have germinated really well. They were sown on 17th May, just 4 days ago, so I'm hoping to catch up somewhat. In the pic below are Scarlet Nantes, seeds/lings. The other varieties are Resistafly, Chantenay Red Core, and Deep Purple.

The sheets were placed on top of moist compost and covered over with sieved compost. Just got to keep them nicely watered now.

Surely they must grow into carrots now :#

It's been a beautiful day in the garden, just wish the wind wasn't so cold.

Trying to be the person my dog thinks I am!

Just been to the nursery and bought a few to replace the deaders - thrift, anemone, orange achillea and cosmos. They're having a soak.
  • I planted the tomatoes into their final bed.

    I my garden.

    Good morning everyone,

Up early today, trimmed the Honeysuckle at the bottom of the garden.

Must trim the Euonymus at some point too.

Had a Quadgrow pot going spare, so planted a sweet pepper, absolutely no idea how it will fair next to the toms so will play it by ear.

    Cut the back lawn
Moved a bench ready to make a new seating area to catch the evening sun and is in the shade in the morning at the bottom of the garden
There is a Holly Tree behind and I don’t think I’ve seen much blossom on it before
Going to start on greenhouse tomorrow morning ready to put shading up
