Sowed Nicotiana, cosmos and liquorice. Transplanted a few seedlings of hawthorn along the boundary, I'm hoping for a hedge sooner or later. Any holly or hawthorn I find are going there in a line.
You know what? I love liquorice, and I've never thought about growing it! Is it easy? I've got a hawthorn sapling if you want it? It's about 10 inches. I was weeding my mum's garden last year and it was too big to murder so I had to bring it home, lol!
The top of the wall of my daylily bed is now visible! I can see the shapes of my raised beds under the snow. It's making me crazy having to hurry up and wait...
In the house, my second sowing of impatiens is doing well, and I'm beginning to see germination from the pansy sowing I did the other day. The smaller seedlings I transplanted seem to be doing well.

Been on greenhouse this afternoon sieving general compost ready for seeds , always surprised at the amount of little twigs etc , this isn’t wasted use it in the bottom of pots At least no plastic this year
Cut back the hydrangeas but got rained off before before I finished the job which is annoying me. Also cut back an early clematis which I think died over the winter but have left the roots in case it regenerates and surprises me.
Went out to weed a bed, got half way rained off. Came in had drink, rain stopped, and went out again finished the edge of the bed against the path ( far too wet to stand on anything) then went and tidied the strawberry plants. This left room for the runner plants I potted last autumn, so planted them in . Surprised the strawberries in pots survived the cold winter! 🥶 Rained again, so no after lunch outside work done.🙄
