  • I walked the dog first thing and checked the box of apples I left at the park. About half of them have gone so will take some more up in a day or two's time.
Picked some tomatoes, they are still ripening nicely on the vines in the greenhouse.
The mini cyclamen are on the window sill in the bathroom, and shouldn't need much attention except the occasional drink.
I sorted out some pots ready for the onion seeds to be sown in when it began pouring again so no more gardening outside.
Made a potato, bacon, onion and cheese bake for dinner. Also, to use up some leftover crumble topping, some cherry biscuits as an evening nibble.

Dinner sounds very appetising @Joyce Goldenlily - do you ever have time to sit down!

Got my new rose planted this morning and after lunch I also planted a tray of cyclamens in various places in the front garden. I then potted up a packet of Scilla siberica into small terracotta pots which I'll move onto the windowsill when they flower.

  • I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner, so many different combinations of ingredients to try out in the future.
The weather today looks very promising, hopefully, I will be able to get in the garden and do some more clearing up, planting, etc.
  • Planted the tulips. Tick.
    Planted the narcissus. Tick.
Filled the modules with compost for the onion seeds. Tick.
Picked the second bucket of apples. Tick.
Cleared long grass away from the cyclamen neopolitanum. Tick.
    Feels good.

    And don't forget @Joyce Goldenlily

If you do a task that's not on the list, write it on then...tick!
  • When I checked the box of apples I left on the seat on the village Green there were only two apples left so I took another box up this morning, after sorting and washing them. Hopefully, most of them will go over the weekend.
The weather was awful this morning, dark, misty, mizzling, and really warm.
I haven't done anything today. had a quiet day.

I hate the clocks going back, this weekend, the days seem so short and dark.

I walk through a local community orchard each day and the path was absolutely covered with fallen apples this morning, so I picked some up for the compost heap and a few better ones for a Dorset Apple Cake, which is cooling down as I type!

Taken some of the grass away and planted some polyanthus, they're a bit small but they should be alright for spring. Just ordered some hyacinths to plant there.

Decided to bite the bullet and start taking out the stumps of the dwarf box hedge in the front garden. 8 down and about 30 to go! I must say having a mini mattock helps a lot, which I'd bought one years ago!

I have to confess I haven't. I treated myself to a little wooden desk for the spare room to put my sewing machine on. I've got so much to do. My eldest daughter gave me a kimono type dressing gown with half sleeves, she caught one of the sleeves on a door handle. The hole was way too big to darn, had to cut the piece off and re hem both sleeves. Took in a check shirt of mine. Then stopped, learnt my lesson when I sat for hours making masks a couple of years ago,my back was killing me. Done a little knitting, almost finished my cardi, but have to be careful with the hands. Hubby on the other hand, has been out there most of the day, very radical tidy up. Shredder out, moved a lot of shrubs. Discovered a tunnel burrowed into the raised bed with all the bulbs, daffodils scoffed,no doubt the b***** mice coming from neighbours!!
