No gardening for me.  Work until Friday so I'm hoping the wind will have dropped by then.
My seeds are sprouting on the spare bedroom windowsill though.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

No gardening again today for me, I'm not very heavy and would get blow over. Will be finishing the seed sowing indoors till the bucket runs out of compost. Keep looking at the seeds I planted at the weekend but no little head yet :(

It only took 4 days for the lettuce seeds to pop up.🙂 The toms have taken well to being potted on and have nipped tops of half my sweet peas. Decided to try a packet of wall flowers,  not sure they will do anything as they are very old free from a magazine packet, we will see.

Did some more hard pruning of a big box bush. I'd forgotten boxwood is very hard and dense so it's hard work. Hoping to get OH out to do the bigger branches for me!

  • Potted on some Dahlia seedlings (6), dug out more of those pesty Spanish bluebells that are still appearing after living here for 40 years (previous residents to blame for them) and talked to my clematis that are only just beginning to show signs of life this year.

Lovely day for pottering in the greenhouse, bit blowy outside! Managed a bit of weeding, found some of my missing astrantias, moved some aquilegia Green Apples in among the astrantias, planted some primulas I bought in Tesco this morning, pricked out petunias, inspected all the seed trays on my windowsills...several times..... :D

I haven’t but my tree surgeon has trimmed my conifers and Pittosporum, with a Laurel and pine left to do tomorrow. He has taken my two builder’s bags of prunings that I did away too.
My garden and I live in South Wales.

Managed an hour out there after work. Fed the two honeysuckles with fbb, watered it in and mulched with the last of my leaf mould. Pruned 3 shrub roses, lots more to do still. Potted up self sown hellebore seedlings to grow on. Noticed lots more clematis shoots appearing, much relief felt to see them. Tied in clematis Princess Diana stems, it seems a vigorous variety now it's 3 years old. Spotted more peonies poking through the soil and a lot of hardy geranium coming back to life. Also saw the blackbirds collecting nest material...happy hour indeed.

For the third day it is blowing a gale and lashing it down. No outside for me. I'm at the point where I can only watch everything inside grow until big enough to go into greenhouse. I always get impatient about now, I want to get on.🙄🙂
