Rebuilt the compost area in a different location after the pizza oven travails @Amphibios pictures will be on later of our 1st attempt. Dead headed a rose and continued with weeding out fennel seedlings, this has become my personal battle 😠😠 potted on Eupatorium and some grasses I took from division this spring.

Got a start on the cedar screen

I’ve no idea what I’m doing.

That looks brilliant @Wilderbeast! I made a cucumber ‘ladder’ today (make-shift trellis). My OH won the battle of the Alchemilla Mollis - we have removed half of it and the new self-seeded plants. I like it as it softens edges and fills gaps, but OH says it is a weed.
My garden and I live in South Wales.

Been to nursery this afternoon, it was great we were quite giddy with excitement (it's the very 1st shop we've been into since lockdown started). Got 4 small bush roses, 1 tall rose, 3 really large heucarra in lovely clay pots, bearded iris, and a monster sized drinking gourd hosta all for £80. Put them to soak and just planted them out

@Wilderbeast fabulous!! Makes all the hard work worth it!
@London_to_Latimer I like the screen will look super when finished.
Emptied the compost after tales of smoking compost elsewhere on the forum. It was bone dry, too much brown (got carried away with shredded cardboard and twigs).
Mowed the lawn, broke more concrete, dyed resulting concrete.
Have made a start on second  winter gabion.
Excavations in the back have unearthed an unholy depth of concrete. Need to excavate more to figure out if it’s old or new from network rail.
Felt very disheartened but exchanged that for the bol***king I will give the project manager.
Topsoil and a fence indeed!! 😡
Have changed the 1 year plan to the 2 year plan. I thought the massive planters I made were an unnecessary distraction but I may well need them until I get the rest of the garden sorted out.

No gardening here unless you count yet more watering. All nine butts are now empty so having to use hosepipe. Hit 26.3 c by mid afternoon so hid indoors in the shade.
