  • @floralies that sounds nasty...hope you’re ok.
@Allotment Boy thatsounds too good to be true! It really doesn’t harm the birds at all? How bizarre. How large a bag a seed do you use for that quantity of chili, if I may ask? I haven’t got bag of seed, but rather 5kg of seed in a large bucket that I regularly scoop out for my feeder.
    Thanks 🙏🏻

Thanks for your kind wishes everyone. Nurse coming in to dress it everyday. Once it feels a bit more comfortable I shall be out there, what is it with gardening that you can't leave it alone? I was only trying to prune back the Salvias and other asssorted perennials!

Gardening is definitly an addiction.  I lie in bed many a night planning what I'm going to do in the garden and praying for good weather.
Hi from Kingswinford in the West Midlands
  • Oh I'm not the only one then @Yviestevie 😁
  • Out all morning so nothing done so far apart from a little after lunch daffodil deadheading.  Hoping to do more tomorrow.
  • @dappledshade re chilli powder, I used that amount in a 4KG bag. No it really does not harm the birds, I read some time ago in parts of the Southern USA they refer to some chillies as bird peppers because the birds actively seek them out. I am not an expert on avian physiology but I know enough to know it's very different to ours. The chilli will loose heat & effectiveness over time but it is enough to put the squirrels off & send them elsewhere.
    AB Still learning

  • I bought a pot each of Gaziania and snapdragon seedlings a week ago and today planted them on in trays. That's two trays of each for the price of one summer bedding set. 😁 Its nice to get started . Next the tomato seeds to do.😁
  • Thanks @Allotment Boy, that’s quite extraordinary!
