Going on holiday on Monday and was planning to cut the grass tomorrow.  No idea why, but I decided to do it today.  Within about 1/2 hour of finishing, the heavens opened and it absolutely chucked it down.  Job out of the way and the plants watered - result. :D

I have a lawn meadow which was great the 1st year and less so in subsequent years although a packet of nigella seeds finally sprouted and gave a lovely blue carpet of flowers.

I am delighted that the Golden Rod - that I dug up several plants of from a wild space - have taken root in the lawn meadow and are now sprouting a strong stem and healthy leaves!

Also - for the first time in the 19 years that I have had this garden - the loquat tree is bearing fruit - clusters of them in fact!  :)  👍   For the past 2 years there have been some attempts at flowering.  I have to admit I have never done anything other than water the tree since it is so huge/tall and I don't want to encourage further growth!  However, now I will use a suitable fertiliser to encourage fruit ripening - any suggestions for this?  I tend to use potash fertiliser, e.g. for flowers and the fig tree - is this suitable and/or something better?  (I am loathe to use bonemeal because of foxes).

A 'weed' is just a plant in the wrong place - subjective! ;)

Just had some lung function tests done this afternoon and guess what - I'm normal!!!  So that's heart and lungs both okay which is a huge relief. Now to lose more weight!

Always good to get one’s  normality confirmed in writing 😉
