It's always fatal to try stuff on that you haven't worn for years before putting it in the charity bag. It goes back in the cupboard and still doesn't get worn.

It's unbelievable that the Cabinet are saying this took them completely by surprise.  The Speaker had been asked in Parliament to make a ruling on whether it was constitutional or not to put May's proposals for a third vote, and said he was looking into it.
    Their arrogance is breathtaking.
The arrogance on all sides is breathtaking.  On the Government's over the years in thinking the public will simply do as they are told.  That's how they got a bloody nose over Brexit, and The Squeaker in the way he handles debate.  The final straw for me was the smirk on his face when he made the announcement.  The only thing which matters to him is to keep himself in the limelight.  He has stated on several occasions that he would stand down and then reneged on his promise.  Typical politician in that respect really.  If we do end up having another election soon I'd love to see others stand against him.  For those who don't know, it is normal practice for nobody to oppose The Speaker at elections - so much for a democratic vote!

Do you, perchance, make him accompany you when you shop for clothes?

"Her indoors" regularly goes through older clothes, looks longingly at them and repeats the mantra "I'll hang onto that until I lose a bit of weight".  I suppose some of it might come back into fashion one day!  When we had fitted wardrobes built nearly 20 years ago I put 'temporary' hanging rails in our loft.  Clothes from that time are still hanging there and get the same mantra when she goes up.  I'm very tempted to get rid of the lot to charity and just say "No dear, you moved them back downstair to try them on ages ago".  It could be my equivalent to when I see her wearing something new and comment on it.  Stock reply is "No. I've had this for ages"  - true but only because she got it when I wasn't with her and put it straight in the wardrobe.  Unfortunately she learnt that technique from my mother. :D

Decided to go any have a quick mooch around a local plant nursery this afternoon.  Just looking, no intention of buying (honest!).  Came back with 3 different ferns and 3 different hellebores.  Only one of them cost more than £4 and they are all decent size plants.

Painter has just finished painting my office/craft room. Although nothing like the sample it is looking really nice. Sort of a light mushroom/taupe colour! Sets off the white paintwork really well. Chuffed!
(and not a cat paw or tail in any paint so major bonus!).
