A healthy and delicious lunch: artichoke hearts, avocado, olives, red and yellow toms from the garden, all seasoned with za'atar, followed by a perfectly ripe William pear.
I had a great catch crop of grapes this year from a cutting my father in law gave me from his plant. I planted it at my parent's house so the root was outside the greenhouse but the vine was mostly growing inside. The greenhouse is missing about 1/3 of the glass at the moment so it works like an open-ended polytunnel. It's been left to its own devices this year but it's produced some lovely sweet grapes. I took half and left half for the birds and hornets.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
Not garden related but a realy good session at Patchwork club this pm. Lots of returnees now the old committee has departed and so many new ones we have to close our list. Lots of chat and buzz and laughter and co-operation. Great stuff.

I've never understood how people manage to take such great photos of them. They've either got great luck or lightning reflexes. The things move faster than I can point a camera.
How about great luck combined with lightning reflexes?
Have just taken advantage of a break in the rain to dash out to the bin. On the way back stopped to watch a hummingbird hawk moth having a high old time amongst the salvias. That cheered me up no end.
Lovely @AnniD. We have been careful trimming our mixed hedgerow this year and bingo, lots of lovely mature ivy just about to flower and the bees and hoverflies are all buzzing around just waiting for it to burst.

@Wild Edges - our grapes were hit by the drought this year so not many of them and all quite small. Left them for the birds and wasps.
That cheered me up no end.
