Great story @Picidae, and great tulips.
My reason today is that my first clematis is out in today's sunshine, a lovely purple alpine (forget the name unfortunately) but will post a photo.

Cream is no more so you could say that blue won
but cream had laid her eggs so she's happy that her work's done.

Support your local independant garden centres and nurseries :) I've been eyeing up this dark leaved, rosette-forming plant in a local nursery for a while now but they only have a mature plant in a large dish for a price that is a bit high for me. I asked one of the workers if they'd ever consider potting up a couple of the rosettes in individual pots and selling them more cheaply. She was really nice about it and said she'd pot one up for me there and then. As she tried to tease it apart a big chunk fell out and she shoved it all into the one pot for me. The result is a bit of a build-your-own succulent kit but I've ended up with a bunch of rooted rosettes and a handfull of bits for cuttings so for the £1 she charged me I won't complain at all. You don't get this sort of service at the big chain garden centres (in my experience anyway).
