Such a lovely photos, especially crocuses. We say that Spring come when the
first almond start to flower. Well, here it is.

Last year a late winter stroke destroyed all almonds flower so we didn't have any, but this year we are going to have a lots of them.

Pieris 'Valley Valentine', flowering at least a month earlier than usual...

A most splendid show of flowers, that Pieris, @Liriodendron.
    Some lovely Spring colours, everyone.
Here's my contribution of the day.
Camellia 'Buttons & Bows' just starting to bloom out
Camellia 'Buttons & Bows' against a background of winter heath
    Tulipa turkestanica
Chionodoxa forbesii (glory of the snow)

  • What a beautiful tulip that Turkestanica is, quite unusual I would imagine - where did you buy the bulb from Papi Jo?

Thanks, @Guernsey Donkey2 I can't remember where I got the bulbs from, but they are not really rare. T. Turkestanica is a botanical tulip, which has a number of flowers on the same stem, flowers earlier than other tulips, and will grow well, year after year. Needs sun. I quite recommend it. See pics in my garden.
  • Thank you for the link and the relevant information.  I had not knowingly seen this form of tulip before and also the idea of several flowers on the same stem appeals, I noticed that they only flower for a very short time.  I have just common Little Red Riding Hood tulips and so far they have been in flower for two weeks and just keep coming.  We live in a very windy area, and the LRRH seem to be able to stand up to this type of weather. However I am sorely tempted with your Tulip Turkestanica!

Lovely pix everyone - that almond is stunning Ante.  :)
GD - if you take a look at Peter Nyssen's site, you'll see lots of botanical tulips there. I have quite a few types. Shorter and plenty of bright colours, and perfect for near the front of a border. They come back every year, so much better than the big, blowsy ones if you want a reliable spring display.  :)
They're just starting to appear here.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
