Cheers guys, it had a strong root system so should recover from it’s brutal debut. I gave it a good watering in so will leave it until Friday when it’s due to get cooler. Might be better to leave the haircut until then too, this hot wind will probably re-crisp the newly cut edges!

Gallardia I love your garden layout @Perki - also some stunning plants and wonderful colours. My Morning Glory flowers lasted just one morning in that intense heat last few days - I won't be growing them again.

I adore convulvulous mauritanicus. I fell in love with field bindweed when I was a child, with its pink parasol stripes and faint honey smell, and that blue is just heavenly.
