@AnniD Don't have a Homebase here.😞 It would be a good time to buy them when they are reduced if you are willing to wait until the following year for them to flower again. That Dark Angel Red looks good. Saw some in M&S for £12. They look good and wouldn't have the postage to pay. Have some vouchers from last week so could use some of that.  :) Will let you know...

Hedgehog approved of the new foot spa facilities.....

...but thought the neighbour seemed a little stand offish.

I may have a photo of the owl family to come @Valley Gardener !
It was so funny, he stayed there for ages, with his nose snuffling as if he was having a conversation,  while the owl sat there saying absolutely nothing......
I need to get out more 😁

Good evening all. For some reason a storm has blown in with wind and lashing rain. I have been out and put some babies into the cold frame and tied in the purple mallow. I don't want to lose that one, as out of ten seedlings I had to reject nine pink ones. Now in comfy pj's drying out.

"Nice but dim" describes hedgehog well I think, but hope his feelings weren't hurt when owl decided not to engage in conversation. Bless him.

I used your code on SGC Anni as I wanted a pink achillea, and added on a white one to get the discount and free postage.

Hope you are all having a good evening and not suffering from the storm. This is a good test for the new arch, so fingers crossed.

I think the weather here is a lot calmer @Purplerain. Hope the arch stays upright!
There is a bit of a breeze, it hasn't been all that sunny, in fact it was quite chilly here this morning. Am stuffed full of roast chicken, came into watch Countryfile and find out when the heatwave is due, but have got sidetracked by the Proms on BBC 4.
Hope all have a pleasant evening  :)

Good morning all, well it's actually not,  drizzling heavily here. Ah well, there's another basketful of washing,if the rain keeps up I will get stuck into my half finished oil pic.

@AnniD   Nice but Dim describes me.......I thought that was another hedgehog! Duh!!   I looked in and thought, that looks as if it has ears, probably a shadow??  A family indeed!!! Silly billy.

    Good morning everyone  :)
Don't worry @Valley Gardener, it was an easy mistake to make. It was the clearest picture l could get by zooming in and trying to increase the lighting on it a bit. I need an Ultra high definition night camera rather than one from Aldi ! (Might be an idea for a Christmas pressie.....).
It just tickled me, the way he stayed there for ages, for all the world as though he was trying to have a conversation, and thinking "You don't have much to say for yourself, do you ?".
The dish is clean again this morning, with this heatwave coming l am not sure how much food he will take, but there will be a very large bowl of water anyway!
While wandering around the garden last night l spotted some bindweed that has neatly twined itself around the stem of an agastache, right in the middle of a flower bed 🙄.
I am hoping to sort that out later before it gets too hot, it is quite cloudy at the moment so l just need to get on with it......maybe another cup of tea first 😁
Hope all have a good day, whatever the weather (didn't Alan Titchmarsh used to say that ?)

Good morning all. It's still blowing a gale here but the only damage seems to be a toppled over pot of runner beans, and the arches are still standing. I heard they are getting it bad in the Lakes which is a shame as half of the family are down there on a fortnights holiday. The forecast is for it to clear up tomorrow. I hope so as I am supposed to be going on a garden visit.

I don't have bindweed @AnniD but have heard that it's a real nuisance, just like my marestail.

@Valley Gardener I am looking forward to your new painting. What is the subject this time? It's good that you can turn your hand to something satisfying when the weather is bad.

@Fran IOM how is the weather where you are?

I will look in later and hope you all manage to make the most of your Monday.

    Good Morning all.
Didn't get a chance to post yesterday but nothing much to report.
The weather was something else. Heavy rain and strong winds which I don't think will have done the plants a favour. At least it's not raining this morning but everything will still be very wet.
I did buy a hydrangea from M&S. After taking off the cellophane wrapping a couple of the blooms are quite floppy and so not quite sure what will happen when I plant it out. May have to stake it somewhat or possibly prune it if it doesn't recover. We shall see.
I am amazed at what plants have appeared which I had forgotten about.
The grass will no doubt be covered in rose petals and small hard apples after all this wind.
@Valley Gardener I also thought it was another hedgehog so don't berate yourself!
@Purplerain Hope you are pleased with your SGC order when it arrives and using Anni's code?? I daren't look at their website just yet but another email is due soon.
@AnniD  Mouse must be taking a back seat at the moment or else he is camera shy.
Hope you have digested your chicken and ready for a day in the garden weather permitting.

    Have a good day all.
