We will have a quiet New Year, need it after the noisy Christmas. House needs cleaning and putting to rights now. Various things were put out of reach from small hands!
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Morning all/ evevning Pat. Hope all is well. A dry forecast for NYE means one thing - bl**dy fireworks! You think they are all finished about 12:15 but no - random pops all night!
When my aunt and cousins emigrated to Perth my aunt insisted she cooked a full Christmas dinner every year, Jean she would stand in a puddle of sweat. needless to say, when my cousins grew up they went to the beach and had a BBQ.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
Been out for a walk on my own, but not a long one. It's hardly above freezing and the forest was silent and spooky in the fog. Feel I've been stuck indoors feeling unwell or cooking for the family for too long.
We now have very little on until we go to Norfolk on the 17th. I think it's time we had a break. But we are going to tea with our friends in the village tomorrow.

Look forward to you popping up on the camera thread then Steve.
Good BL. A quiet walk can clear your mind and soul sometimes. Not for me today tho as Possum has given me her cold - throat and sinuses so far - and I don't want it heading south to my chest so I'm keeping warm and quiet. The only venture outside was to get some lemons form the polytunnel for a lemon cheesecake and the wash for a crispy roast Peking duck for tomorrow's dinner.
Leg of lamb in the oven for dinner so I'm off to iron the pattern pieces for a fitted fleece top for Poss and then cut it out before dinner. She flies back on Thursday so I have Wednesday left to sew it. Off to La Rochelle for the day tomorrow.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Hi everyone, just scanned back seems like you all survived the mayhem reasonably intact. Just back from the Albert Hall, B'ham ballet company the Nutcracker. very enjoyable afternoon. Gave me an excuse to put a jacket & tie on instead of my usual tramp like gardening outfits. Just NYE to survive now & we can all go back to normality (whatever that is).
It’s already NYE here and very quiet so far. Need to make a quick trip to town which I’m not looking forward to with our heatwave hanging on for yet another day.🥵
