No, just reverting to my roots.  ;)

  • Morning all.

Baby's bathwater yesterday had to be supplemented with kettles of hot water.  Back to the old days...  boiler engineer has been, diagnosed a faulty sensor...  don't know when he'll be back to fit it.  Ah well.  At least the central heating works, if we don't run the hot water.

Hope you're cooling down a bit, Pat!

@Liriodendron, on balance, I'd rather have heat, no hot water , than the other way round. As you say, you always boil up some water to wash.

I've just haggled and bought the last 9 packs of allium bulbs .
" they cost us £2 a bag to buy in"
" well, if I give you £2 a bag for them then you've lost nothing. You know they should have been planted weeks ago?"
    " yeah , go on then £2 a bag"
I've now got to get 135 bulbs planted before I go on holiday.

I did that when Parkers had bulb clearance. For very little money, I had to find homes for hundreds of bulbs. I ended up digging a trench between the asparagus and throwing them in. They will make cut flowers for the house.
Hostafan, don't you have a lovely new wide border to fill?

I do indeed, but it's not quite ready for planting. I'll pot them , 3 , or maybe 5 at a time in a 3l pot and plant them out later.

Well, that was a nice surprise!
I've just opened my emails to find one from John Lewis Partnership with an "e-voucher" for £20 to mark my 5 years with the Partnership.
    I wasn't expecting that.
