HIya Pat, I hope you manage to stay cool .
Did anyone see this on the news last night?
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-46714984
You just couldn't make this stuff up!!
So "taking back control" means giving millions to a British company with no trading history and no ships and giving millions more to a Danish and a French company.
    Gosh, isn't Brexit going well??

Well! That’s clever isn’t it!   Sometimes you wonder.

We’ve been to town and I did my little exercise by walking up and down all of the isles in the air conditioned supermarket. Beats sitting at home in front of the fan and feeling guilty for not moving.

there is heavy cloud all over, but no wet stuff. Still at least it’s only about 31 instead of 39.

    Catch you all later.😃

Hello everyone, been reading all the posts just not been able to post myself

So glad everyone enjoyed Christmas with or without family chaos .  Hope that
Punk and Moira had a nice time and Moira didn’t have any pain and anyone else needing a sprinkle of Christmas magic received it

Goodness what a lot of breakdowns there have been! Either car or house. Not a good time of year. Hope all fixed, please send a plumber up here, oursseems to have disappeared!
Pat I am sorry you are so uncomfortable with the heat. I guess it’s something you never get used to although it would be interesting to see if  Hosta could cope! How are your water tanks this year,?
Dove you  are very organised, as usual, my carcass is in the pot last night, should be ready this morning. Hope you have a good stay with mil
Busy, how did the little ones cope with the decorations? We were lucky in that there seemed to be plenty else to amuse and we had no disasters

Oh and I have cleared all evidence of children away, most of the beds are done and we plan to get me out for a while today. I have been inthis house for a week and I need a break Boxing Day was the hardest  10 for lunch and 3 under 4,  one sister was very sympathetic of my labarynthitis and helped whilst the other never moved her but   No change there tho, my 2019 resolution is to put my oh first and not my relations!

So it's Hogmany again. It’s getting quieter each year for us unless you are one of the young hardy ones in Edinburgh. The village does celebrate and we are at friends tonight Does anyone else remember getting the windows done, all laundry away and clearing your debts?!  Not to mention the Rev I M Jolly!! And of course Euphemia!
Fairy May “ get” that 🤣

Have a good day, safe celebrations and every best wish for 2019. May we share our friendship all over again in the coming year.  I count this forum as special
Happy New Year, when it comes

PS Hosta have a fab holiday

Havent had chance to get on here for weeks. Hubby had a fall nearly 3 months ago, slipped backwards on mud, coming down the Downs with the dogs, bit of pain, then putting up next doors fence, got worse and worse, it was his left, overusing the right, that "went" to, then its been a month, of Drs,Hospital and Consultant, he couldnt drive, 3 weeks off work, couldnt finiish the fence, put the waterproofing stuff on the new summerhouse, we had one day each week with no rain, you have to have 48 hours dry after application. Christmas was good, oldest daughter, youngest and 2 kids, oldest son, got some lovelly presents this year.  Yesterday lunch with other grandparents, after lunch walk in Ashdown Forest, they gave us a gorgeous metal heron for Christmas, hes a beauty.  Just wanted to wish my friends, the ones I have met, in the flesh any I havent a very happy and healthy (thats the important bit) new year

    Morning all/afties, evening Pat.
Been slightly absent as I've been painting. A tedious job, especially when there are a lot of bits not properly filled by the builders and I'm too particular for my own good. At least it's been easier to use the roller/brush above my head than it was 6 months ago, although still frustratingly difficult at times.
Not caught up here yet, but glad you're a good bit better LP.  It's funny how some folk can't catch on isn't it? Put yourself and your needs first for a while and take time to get better.  :)
    I.M.Jolly - Rikki Fulton was brilliant wasn't he?  :D
Sorry to hear your hubby's been in the wars, NB. Is he on the mend now? Fences and summerhouses can wait - getting better is more important. Glad you had a nice Christmas despite the setbacks.
    I hate Hogmanay/New Year. There, I've said it  :D
I've never seen the point of it all. Nevertheless- I hope everyone enjoys it if they're out celebrating.
My sister is visiting later, en route to relations, so I'll wish you all a 'Guid New Year' in case I don't get time to pop back in. I'd better pot up the plants I promised her too.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
