Happy New Year to you and family Pat, we are also in the lower 30 and still no rain Hosta I hope you enjoy your holiday and safe journey, and Happy New Year to all Forum people
Hi Pat he is still unsteady on his feet and we had a weekend away in Nov and he fell over twice I usually leave him watching the tv with instructs not to move till i get back.
Happy New Year Pat & Glenys, if you're still awake!
Hello everyone.
Nothing broken here after 1-year-old's stay - the barricades worked! He's a very amenable child, really, but like all babies, loves to test the boundaries. Now it's rather quiet and empty... but we're off to Ireland on Wednesday to visit the granddaughters (and their mum & dad!) so there's something to look forward to.
Hope the collywobbles subside completely soon, LilyP. Nasty thing, labyrinthitis. And best wishes to Obelixx and Possum - hope you're better soon.
Happy hols, Hosta!
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
I've probably missed you both now Pat and Glenys - but hope you've had a good day/evening and you have a lovely, happy, healthy New Year and beyond Hosta - it's that running joke about postmen - they always wear shorts no matter what the weather. I think they're very competitive about their 'hardness' Obelixx - yes, I have various lengths of pole for attaching, but it's just the general movement, or lack of it, with the shoulder that's the prob when trying to get into the awkward bits. The big area will be easy enough to do, but I'm doing the awkward end first to get it over with before I get scunnered! Having some lunch before I get another coat on the walls. I had a bit of faffing and sanding to do as well. I wouldn't have minded the builders leaving some of the plaster unsanded. Far better than scraping it all with rough sandpaper...twuts. I've just had my new mattress delivered. It'll have to stay in it's box for now.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Just read back - lovely to hear you all enjoying Christmas, and also that colds, sinuses and ears are on the mend.
We had a lovely time - just the right balance between manic and relaxing, with plenty of chuckles too 🤣. Have spent the last week going on lots of long walks - mostly round here, but one up in London (our usual “hidden” book). Discovered Holland Park (which had only ever been a tube stop on the Central Line to me ☺️)....which has a delightful Japanese garden and what looks like an impressive rose garden/orangery. Must return when there are flowers 🌹
Hate NYE too - time flies so fast these days, I don’t need to celebrate the passing of another year. But will stay up to hear the bongs and watch the fireworks(both on the telly and in the surrounding gardens here).
So Happy New Year to you all.....maybe it be filled with plenty of sunshine, gentle overnight showers and lots of growing things 🌱🌱🌱
