I am symptomless and other than gender and age (over 27!) not in a high risk group so hadn't even thought about getting tested. More tests to come before complete diagnosis and I might get lucky but kind wishes gratefully received nonetheless.

Worse things happen at sea, like this shocker - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-46642870 Our old family home which my sister now owns backs onto that walk. It is a very quiet little neighborhood where gun violence would be the last thing you would expect.

Very best of luck Steephill ... a stitch in time and all that :)

I'm back from W'rose ... hopefully that was the last trip to the supermarket before Christmas ... the problem is both fridges and the freezer are full and I'm collecting the turkey/sausages/bacon tomorrow :o

I will keep my fingers crossed for you steephill, and wish you as a peaceful a Christmas as possible.
I know what you mean about these things being unexpected in quiet neighbourhoods. We had a similar thing here a few years ago, and in my work capacity, knew both sets of people involved. The perpetrator lived round the corner from me.  Sadly, it didn't turn out well for the target.
This is when you need a small fridge or freezer in a garage or similar Dove. my sister has one in case she needs to feed 5 million folk for a fortnight  :D
Either that or you'll just have to eat more....
Daughter is working every day until C'mas, so guess who's able to avoid the hordes queuing from every doorway  ;)

  • @Steephill- been there done that got the scars to prove it. A lot of people moaned about Tony Blair but he introduced well man screens. I had no symptoms  or risk factors I was only in my early 50 s but PSA was slightly high & the rest followed, that was more than 12 years ago. Things have moved on from my day even more so if it is that you are as well to catch it early & deal with it. All the best.

Afternoon all.  We have had another wild and windy and very nosiy night so a late start this morning.  However, horror shop for Xmas is now done - fridges and freezers full, wine rack full, fruit bowls full, veg baskets full.   No more shopping for a week.

A late lunch has been consumed.   Now to start on the cleaning..........

We have a friend at dancing who has to go for a procedure similar to a colonoscopy on the 27th.   Been told to stop eating on the 25th.  As if!   She'll feast at midday and then be good.  Hope it turns out well for her and all on here with suspected or confirmed nasties.   Positive waves beaming their way to all.

Good luck to anyone travelling to be with family or friends this weekend.   Hope everone arrives safely.

Oh, I'm a snivelling wreck now. Simon Mayo's last show. I had to listen , even if ghastly Jo Whiley would have been on, but she wasn't, so it was just lovely Simon. I'm just grateful he didn't play out with The Proclaimers and that song, instead it was Morecambe and Wise with Bring Me Sunshine.
Bless his little cotton socks. :)

Glad you had a good outcome A.Boy. Hopefully, more and more people will be helped, and as technology and diagnoses improve, it will become a disease that's easier to detect and treat.

We listened too Fairy, huge fans of Simons show. Although he has explained his future plans I thought his last few words told a different story.
