I used to like my old camera because of the eye piece, Obelixx. But I dropped it one too many times and it became faulty. I bought a new one, same make, but the eye look through bit has gone, been updated, so now it's glasses or guesswork.
Have a new crown from dentist son. Glad that's sorted.
Enjoyed the craft afternoon. I made a wreath from a cheap wreath base which I covered with moss, glue gun. Then stuck pine cones, shiny red beads, bows in thin ribbon, dried hydrangea flowers, tiny parcels in silver and white shiny paper etc. all over it. Touched up with gold glitter paint, mostly on the pine cones. My friend will sell them at a Christmas fair for charity. I bought mine but she wants to keep it with "sold" written on it to decorate the stall. Have to be careful with glue guns, the glue gets very hot.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
I can't believe the paperwork sent to the closed bank branch won't turn up eventually... but I've sent the replacement "signed for", so I'll be able to reassure my sister that it's arrived safely.
Plumber has rung... he's got the necessary part, but run out of time to bring it and do the work. He'll come between 7.30 and 8 tomorrow morning. Better get myself out of bed then...
My camera has a proper viewfinder, and I do prefer it to a phone screen, but I've got used to guessing what I'm photographing with the phone when the weather is very bright.
DPD were supposed to deliver something between 3.26 and 4.26 this afternoon. They've sent me a text saying they were unable to deliver because nobody was in... and sending a photo of the house through whose letterbox they claim to have delivered a note. Well, the house in the photo is a double-fronted detached house with a balcony. I live in a terraced house, no balcony, and was most definitely in, not more than 15 feet from my front door, throughout the hour. You can't contact DPD to tell them - all you can do is rearrange a new delivery slot, or arrange to collect your parcel from some inconveniently distant location...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Evening everyone. Special thoughts to Mary. Catching up on news, emails, forum etc before making dinner. I have actually put PJs on already as needed to change out of my ‘tidy’ clothes and thought - why not!

Liri - I think you were away when I spoke about my recent issue with DPD. You can email a company called Resolver and make a complaint. They left mine under my car. I was also in, and daughter was in the 2nd time it happened a few days later. The woman [from DPD] who dealt with my issue was very good. I'll see if I can find the details and forward them to you. Yes BL - glue guns take skin off quite easily. They're a well used tool of our trade [rosette centres are all put on with one] and very few of us escape without injury! If you can rub it off instantly [ ] it helps prevent the skin coming off
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Home after a lot of driving through the Fens in a great deal of rain.
@Liriodendron after trying and failing to inform their bank’s branch of my parents’ demise by letter I discovered that what you have to do is phone their national customer service number ... they put me through to their Bereavement team(or some such name) who handled everything very quickly and efficiently. That was Barclays. I was impressed. Don’t know if other banks do the same ....
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
@Fairygirl - thank you! Hopefully they might have another go tomorrow, in the light, but that email site sounds potentially useful, thank you. We have prescription cat food delivered once a month by DPD, so they do have drivers who can find their way round my town...
@Dovefromabove - many thanks for this, too. As it happens I've found my way to the Bereavement Team for my mum's bank, through Customer Services, and sent them another death certificate - but we couldn't find anything useful on their website, which was why we sent the first one astray.
Anyone found the site was down a while ago?

So did I, something from Vanilla Forums.
OH arrived safely in Edinburgh. His niece will join him tomorrow. Great niece's graduation is in the afternoon.
I rubbed the glue off quickly and my finger stung for a bit, but it's fine now.
