Glad you had a nice break doc. The weekend weather was about as favourable as it could be at this time of year. Good sprinkling of snow on all the hills now My colleague's younger sister [who used to work with us ] is one of the events managers there. She's a lovely girl and very hard working, just like her sis. Their parents have a cottage there too. Most of the delivery drivers we get at work are very good. The regular courier chap is very helpful and pleasant. I've had the odd 'strange delivery location' too AuntyR. You sometimes wonder what goes through their head! Some are just bl**dy careless though. I forgot to mention Hosta's lovely pix earlier too - apologies Hosta. Really beautiful. We had a stunning moon when I got home. It was low in the sky and looked huge.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Hi Pdoc, that sounds a fantastic time! Really impressed that they remembered the cancellation and provided cake and upgrade! It's the attention to detail that adds a more personal experience and is so often lacking in customer service. Wasn't the moon amazing Fairy! 😀 Time to bath then eat and relax, have a lovely evening all 😊
Glad you enjoyed it punkdoc. That was lovely of them, I am impressed too.
Just had soup, still a bit full after lunch. Nothing we really want to watch on TV. I usually watch The Apprentice but getting bored with it so giving this series a miss. I quite like Masterchef but OH doesn't.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
we are very lucky as a rule here as our delivery guys know us well but we are about to go into the silly season. I always have a plate of mince pies, nearer the time, which most of them refuse!

Sounds wonderful Doc. Lovely treats and walkies too. I hope you and Moira are both thoroughly enjoying yourselves and feeling better for it.
No problems with deliveries here so far - assuming they find us. Some satnavs don't know about our road name and think we're still a "lieu dit" which is a bit vague even tho the lieu dit sign is outside our gate. No leaving stuff under cars or behind gates or whatever. If we're not in to sign for it it has to go either to the nearest PO or a relay point for us to collect it.
Most UK courier drivers seem to be paid on piece rates with a minimum delivery rate for the day's pay. No incentive to be careful either with addresses, waiting for doorbells to be answered or fragile parcels. It's the old adage - pay peanuts..........
Moon rise here shines straight into our bedroom and living room and is very bright and clear at the mo. Love it.
Your day sound sgood Busy and WW. I have never liked the Apprentice. The contestants all seem absolutely awful - gabby and grabby. OH records it all to watch while I'm elsewhere. We both like Masterchef.
I have spent most of my day sorting out my sewing room ready for all the homework that's piling up - mystery quilt for Monday group, 100cm square project for machine patch using half square triangles, Xmas felt decs, Xmas table runner and a frock I've half finished. Bulb planting tomorrow then. And a cake to take to dance class.

Evening all. Random time to be online, but the internet is reachable from our balcony. Hurrah. Very hot to day, even for us about 33C but we can take it, coz we're dead butch. I'm so glad you had a lovely weekend @punkdoc, you both deserve a wee treat. A, mob, and I mean MOB from Birmingham arrived here today and they are just about the worst example of " Brits Abroad" imaginable: loud, screaming at the kids from one end of the pool to another, Hideous. Will pop in when I can. Nighty night all
Argggg Hosta this is when it’s time to pretend you dont understand English. (It’s soo embarrassing when your own countrymen give shocking impressions)How is your Cantonese?

Hello everyone. Have just woken and read back what you’ve all been up to while I had my beauty sleep. Pity it didn’t work though.
Lovely that you and Moira had such a special treat Punkdoc. Hosta, ugh— how horrible for you and Hubby. Wonky it sounds as though your clever Mother spent time teaching you to cook 🤪. Obelixx, I can’t imagine where you get the energy. Which dance are they concentrating on now?
My memory has disappeared now so hello to the rest of you. Loved reading all your chat.
I heard rain overnight again, so I’ll be interested to check the rain gauge when I’m mobile. I might just have a bit more shut eye first though.
8.5mm of rain in the gauge. Me no complain! It’s a bit cool and windy outside and apparently snow has started falling on the ranges. It’s very windy too. Here is a huge dust storm sweeping across NSW from Broken Hill to the east coast. It’s even blanketing Sydney. Ive decided to stay indoors and practice my Ukelele chords and rhythms for a change.
