Morning all, afternoon Pat, It is true dearest Dove taught me well in the kitchen, her own mother's cooking was a disaster and family meals were always catered by Dove luckily! I remember been one of those 'helpful' children! Sat on a stool in the kitchen, stirring and licking wooden spoons and putting my hand on cooker hobs because my mother told me it was hot and I was just checking to see if she was right! Sorry Dove, you were right...It was! Hope everyone has a lovely day, catch up with what you've been up to after work 😊

You've always been one who has to learn from your own experiences, haven't you ?
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Good morning. Bright and sunny here - what a surprise - but according to the forecast we're having storms and downpours any minute now. Right.
Have to go and get some eggs to make a birthday cake for this evening and then I'm on sewing duties. Hands a bit arthritic at the mo so no gardening today. Need to be fit for dancing. Paso Doble, Viennese waltz and cha-cha at the mo Pat. All good aerobic stuff even for the younger couples in their 40s, let alone we retired folk.
My mum was a career woman who thought cooking was beneath her intellect so dad cooked. Competent but very plain. When he left home I took over. I've been experimenting ever since. Life is too short to eat the same food week in week out.
Pdoc - positive waves heading your way for both ventures, especially Moira, but I do hope the NDN hasn't attacked your beech tree while you were gone, or done anything else nasty.
Hosta - sounds lovely. Just the kind of people we like to avoid. LP - hope you get your garden sorted without getting too cold. FG - love the idea of waving wands and wings.
OH is golfing. I'm off to buy eggs.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

I'm off to fetch manure from the summer paddock and spread it on the long border, the bit that I've cut down. I'm behind here with all theses trips to Norfolk! Rain is forecast for next week so better get a move on.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Looks like our "storms" have gone to Brittany. Busy weekend coming up so no timr for gardening but I hope we get some of the promised rain for next week's projects - weeding, planting etc.
I hope you have some help moving that manure Busy. Pat - apart form the pleasure we get from it now, one of the reasons for keeping on dancing is still to be able to do it in our 80s and 90s. Loads of older people dancing the other Sunday and having fun with their friends.

Obelixx you’ve brought back memories. I used to learn those dances when I was in my teens. Couldn’t think of it now though!
Hubby made chicken and veggie pies tonight. Rather tasty.
