Morning all. I called myself after gd and the lovely Australian tree. We lived in Oz and knew the tree. I had to check outside last night as the moonshine was strong enough to make me think it was a car! Pat I hope the rain comes soon, how are the tanks? Your sweet peas are beauties Fairy we don’t have foxes but I have seen squirrels nicking my bulbs. I have to admit Living here I hate the greys. They just wipe out the reds. Have a good day everyone, we are off to the pub for lunch and to watch the rugby

Hello Been a bit awol - stressful time just now but nothing worth talking about. I have managed to read back a bit... I can think of better places to have a BBQ than the middle of a roundabout but, hey, if that's what makes you happy. At least they weren't obstructing people just trying to get on with things as happened to Obs. Belated Happy Birthday Obs - hope Possum managed to surface during daylight and you got to do something Fun. How was the Chinese meal, Hosta? Hope you got back to the hotel OK this time. Sorry to hear Moira needs an op, Pdoc. Hope it's done soon and is as straightforward as it can be. Wing waggle to FG. Well done arranging the cows. The ones in the field by us went in to the barns last weekend, just sheep left out now. Pat - I think we may need to get a pipe installed from my garden to yours. All this talk of a lovely moon last evening - well I can't comment 'cos I didn't see it. It was piddling down here and still is and we're not even getting the worst of it. Lyn's probably been washed away by now. Only about 25mm here in the last 24 hours or so. We can spare it. No really, have some. As much as you like. My Mum was a good plain cook, though she talked herself down a lot. Dad wouldn't eat anything he couldn't pronounce, so she didn't get to experiment much, though she'd eat more or less anything, at least once to try it. OH was amazed when my nearly 90 year old aunt (Mum's elder sister) ordered curry when we were out at a pub one time. His Nan would have stuck to the ham egg and chips every time. Culinary praise from Keith Floyd is a thing to treasure It feels here like we've turned the corner from autumn in to winter. Starting to think about putting a up a few fairy lights, to relieve the gloom a bit. We have a new router. Plugged it in and off we went. I wasn't really expecting it to work that easily. Of course then the phone line went down but you can't have everything, eh?
Better go. The Black Friday spam will be building up again......

'Dad wouldn't eat anything he couldn't pronounce' That made me laugh r'girl. My Dad was much the same- 'pasta' exotic... We've had plenty rain thanks - don't send us any more The little coos have been in that field for a while - just a little bundle of them, and we see them every day, as the field runs down to the main road I use for going to work. Hope you're ok and your stress isn't getting you down. Always harder at this time of year, when you're surrounded by all those jolly C'mas ads and tinsel everywhere you go. Black Friday? Load of ol' sh*te, isn't it? I'm always astonished at how gullible some folk are too.

Lilyp, our tanks are ok. Every time we get a bit of drizzle, Hubby pumps from the lower tanks which collect rain water from all our roof gutterings, up to the tanks on the top of the hill behind the house. That means we can gravity feed the water to the house without needing to turn the electric pump on. Works well. 😄
Good morning all. Hi Pat. I saw on the news that they had converted a passenger plane to carry water for fire fighting near Newcastle. Might make hubbies job safer if that's your area.
I actually - honestly - didn't eat pizza until I left home and went to uni
Black Friday - I don't want any more Stuff. Not any. I only have 4 C**mas pressies to buy and I'll do that much nearer the time. Though probably not online, given the tendency of some couriers to lob parcels in the hedge half a mile down the road and put down one of our neighbour's names, claiming it had been signed for. Some of them are great, but unfortunately you don't get to dictate a carrier when you place the order.
I'm OK - thanks for asking We've had worse times. It's the attrition of small aggravations just building up, iykwim, and much of it completely unnecessary - people behaving thoughtlessly.

Morning all, afternoon Pat, gloomy day here, trying to convince the cats to stay in by the fire as an alternative to going outside, realising it's cold then sitting by the door and running away again, then coming back and telling me it's cold and asking me to keep the door open....not going to happen. Too much housework to do to let the cats dictate the days events! Hello Raisingirl, sorry you've been feeling a bit flat, I know the feeling, often spend a little while under a cloud, then come back out again. Often visiting forkers helps me shift the last of the cloud, hope it works for you x. Glad you had a lovely birthday and Obelixx, sounds like a lovely day!! Time to drink first coffee and plan the day, have a lovely weekend folks! 😊
Hey everyone. Having a lazy morning here, after a busy week. So lazy in fact, I started writing this paragraph half an hour ago! Must get a wriggle on and make some plans for the day... catch you later.
Good to see you Wonks, PPam and AuntyR. Take it easy today if possible r'girl - I think many of us get like that when stuff builds up and we reach the straw and camel's back point. We have a history or depression in the fmaily, so it's easy to let it all slide. I try and stay positive and take pleasure in tiny things if, or when, I feel it coming on. Nice photos, listening to music, or watching the birds. It mostly works. I saw a thrush in the front garden a few minutes ago. First one I've seen since moving into this house, although we had loads of them round the corner. That's enough to make me smile for a while Pat - we take our water supply for granted so much here. It's good to be reminded that it's not always the case for everyone. LP - if it was the squirrels making the amount of mess round those daff pots, I'd be very worried! One of those odd days when the sun has made an appearance, then disappeared again after I got optimistic and put washing on..... I heard an old joke the other day and laughed out loud. Hopefully it'll raise a smile for anyone feeling a bit pants.
